HomeSafe View for Android

Have a Smartphone or Tablet? With the free HomeSafe View app, you can turn your Android mobile device into a monitoring centre for your DVR or NVR. Have the peace of mind that you can monitor your home at any time from any place.

With SwannLink Peer-to-Peer technology, connecting your mobile device to your DVR or NVR is so easy - there’s no need to fiddle around with complicated network configurations. Best of all, it only takes minutes to get it up and running.

To download the app:

1. Go to your app store and search for “Home-Safe View” or scan the QR code.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions for in-stallation and accept any license require-ments that may appear.

3. After installing HomeSafe View, locate the app and tap the icon to run.

Setting up your Mobile Device

Step 1Take your mobile device over to your DVR or NVR. Located on your device is a sticker with your P2P ID and QR code.

When you first start the app, you will see this screen as shown on the left. Tap the “Devices” button (top right) to add your device.

Step 2Tap the “+” button (top right). You will see this screen as shown on the left.

Tap the QR code icon to open the scanning page. Hold your mobile device over the QR code sticker on top of your DVR or NVR to scan. You should hear a beep from your mobile device when the QR has been successfully scanned.

Step 3Device Name: Tap this to give your DVR a name that will make it easy to recognise when viewing.

Login Type: Device ID indicates that you are connecting to your DVR using the SwannLink P2P ID method.

Device ID: The P2P ID of your DVR will automatically be en-tered similar to the one shown on the left. If for some reason you cannot scan it in, tap and type in the letters and numbers from the sticker on your DVR.

Media Port: Do not change this as your DVR utilises port 9000 by default.

User Name: The default user name for your DVR is admin.

Password: Tap this to enter the password that you created during the Setup Wizard on your DVR.

Channels: This number will be automatically detected.

Tap the “Save” button (top right) to save. The app will verify your connection. If the app fails to connect, make sure the De-vice ID, Media Port, User Name and Password are all correct and try again.

Wow, that was easy! You will now see a Live View of your cameras connected. Have a look at the in-structions below to get yourself familiar with the functions available.

1. Tap this to access the menu. This gives you ac-cess to a number of options such as remote play-back, video playback, viewing snapshots and de-vice configuration. You can also access the built-in instruction manual.

2. Double tap a camera to view full-screen. Dou-ble tap again to return. Single tap a camera to select it. Selecting a camera gives you the option of taking a snapshot or recording video directly to your mobile device. You can also control a PTZ camera, change video quality settings and enable audio monitoring.

3. The blue dot shows which camera or group of cameras you are currently viewing. Swipe the screen left or right to change.

4. Tap this to stop the Live View of all cameras. Tap again to restart all cameras.

Step 5When you tap the menu button, you will see this screen as shown on the left.

Live: Tap this to go to Live View mode.

Playback: Tap this to enter remote playback mode. This mode allows you to play video that has been recorded on your DVR (this feature re-quires a very fast internet upload speed).

Record: Tap this to play video files that are direct-ly saved to your mobile device.

Image: Tap this to access snapshots that are di-rectly saved to your mobile device.

Device: Tap this to add, edit and delete a DVR.

Help: Tap this to access app version information and the built-in instruction manual.
