Honduras Trip 2009 Prayer Request Guide

You have received this prayer guide because someone has asked you to pray for them during their mission trip to Honduras. Inside you will find a guide of the activities that are occurring each day, which you can use to pray specifically for the work that is being done.

The team will perform service in the areas of Drilling, Evangelism, Kids' Evangelism, Medical, Dental and Hygiene training. The purpose of all of these teams is to serve the people of Honduras, which allows our team the opportunity to share Christ with them.

Here are some things that the team will need prayers for every day:

That we would give our hearts away to the Lord.

For the team members' hearts will be open to God's guidance and that they will speak God's words.

That the people of Honduras' hearts will be open to receive God's messages.

For our team's relationship with the local churches; that they will grow and that they will be of one mind.

That the local church leaders will increase their access into their communities so they can lead others to maturity in Christ after the team has left.

Your prayers are vital while we are in Honduras. In the book of Acts, it talks about people who went, (out to share the Gospel) but it also talks about the people who sent them.

The people who sent, encouraged and prayed for those who went.They also supported them financially, as many of you have done.Please understand the power behind your prayers. Not only does Gods Spirit move, but it helps us to know that we are not there alone. You all are with us in Spirit. That is very powerful.

FRIDAY, JUNE 19th - travel day for the advance team

SATURDAY, JUNE 20th - travel day

Pray for safe travel for the rest of the team

Pray for protection of all bags and supplies

Pray for advance team’s visit with the local church and finalizing plans for the week. Participation of members of the local congregations with our ministry teams.

For “whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then can they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:13-15

SUNDAY, JUNE 21st - set up

On this day, the teams will travel to their work sites and set up equipment. Please pray that this will go smoothly and that relationships with the local people will be established.

MONDAY, JUNE 22nd - ministry

Drilling - set up, dig mud pits, and drill pilot hole

Kidz Evangelism - The younger kids will be learning Numbers 13 and 14:1-9 - God is with us all the time. 12 spies explore the Promised Land and report.The older kids will be hearing testimonies from people on our team and learning about how to be Godly men & women.

Evangelism - pray for the Lord’s leading in the various evangelism teams, and unity of the Spirit.

Medical - The medical team and evangelists will go door to door in a local village so pray the Lord will lead them to the homes where there are the greatest needs and receptive hearts.

Dental - pray for location to work out.

Hygiene – Please pray for how this is set up this year.

TUESDAY, JUNE 23rd - ministry

Drilling - ream hole and case

Kidz Evangelism - The younger kids will be learning Joshua 1-4 – God has a plan for each of us. Joshua and the Jewish people cross the river.The older kids will be hearing testimonies from people on our team and learning about how to be Godly men & women.

Evangelism - pray unity of the Spirit between local churches, translators, and Sugar Creek team

Medical - pray for God's leading for moving medical clinic and logistics of that to go smoothly

Dental - pray for God's healing and for the dentists' work

Hygiene - pray for the hygiene team to be effective in getting the message across of germ transmission, hand washing, storing water, etc. and the Gospel message to adults and children.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24th - ministry

Drilling - flush & bail hole and build concrete pad

Kidz Evangelism - Younger kids will be learning Joshua 6:1-20 – We are to obey God’s Word, the Bible. The walls of Jericho fall. Older kids will hear about the “gift” of Gods salvation.

Evangelism - pray that the people the team talks to will be receptive

Medical - pray for God's healing and for the doctors' work

Dental - pray for God's healing and for the dentists' work

Hygiene - pray for the hygiene team to be effective in getting the message across of germ transmission, hand washing, storing water, etc. and the Gospel message to adults and children.

Evening worship service at the village church of Cuaca Viaje with the local congregation

THURSDAY, JUNE 25th - ministry

Drilling - complete well and install pump

Kidz Evangelism - Younger kids will be learning Joshua 9 and 10 – God can be trusted in all situations. The sun stands still so they can defeat the enemy.All children will hear the salvation message. Kid’s Evangelism will conclude with a closing ceremony…pray for the details and best timing where the children’s parents and others from the village may attend.

Evangelism - pray that the people the team talks to will be receptive

Medical - pray for God's healing and for the doctors' work

Dental - pray for God's healing and for the dentists' work

Hygiene - pray for the hygiene team to be effective in getting the message across of germ transmission, hand washing, storing water, etc. and the Gospel message to adults and children.

FRIDAY, JUNE 26th - ministry wrap up

On this day, the two wells will be dedicated if they are completed. Also, the Kidz Evangelism team will build upon relationships built during the week to visit and share with the kids and their parents in their homes. Please pray that the people will be receptive to the messages shared.

SATURDAY,JUNE 27th -reflection and recreational day

This day is a good time for the team to reflect on their week with the Lord.

Pray for the safety of the team during various recreational activities.

“May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You.”Psalm 67:3

SUNDAY, JUNE 28th - travel day

Pray for the safe return of the team and for continued spiritual growth upon return to the United States.
