Organising PhD and Young Researchers' Sessions with senior discussants and encouraging promising researchers with best paper awards.

Notes on the Keynote Speakers Ike Mathur is Professor of Finance at Southern Illinois University. He has published in top International journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Business, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Economic Letters. He is the author or co-author of over 120 articles and 14 books. He serves on the editorial boards of a number of journals and he is currently the executive editor of the Journal of Banking and Finance. Gianni De Nicolò is a Senior Economist at the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund (Financial Studies Division). Before joining the Fund, he worked as an Economist in the Division of International Finance at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and taught at Brandeis University and the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. He widely published in top international journals, such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, and Journal of Banking and Finance. Robert DeYoung is Capitol Federal Professor in Financial Markets and Institutions at the University of Kansas, U.S. He is also a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, a research program coordinator at the FDIC's Center for Financial Research, and editor of the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking. Prior to joining KU, Bob was an associate director of research at the FDIC (2005-2007); an economic advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (1998-2005); a senior financial economist at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (1992-1998). He widely published in top international journals, such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance. Anjan Thakor is the John E. Simon Professor of Finance at the Olin Business School at the Washington University in St. Louis, U.S. Prior to joining the Olin Business School, he was Professor of Banking and Finance at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, where he also served as chairman of the Finance area. He has served on the faculties of Indiana University, Northwestern University, and UCLA. He widely published in top international journals, such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies.
