Trek 2018 Grants Pass Stake and Klamath Falls Stake How and where to pack your supplies

Five-Gallon Bucket With Lid This serves as your chair

King-size pillow case or bag of similar size

What to Wear/Bring with on the day of the trek

Gear that goes in the bucket Zip-lock bag for toiletries: (pack travel-size if possible) __comb or brush, hair elastics, pins __toothbrush & toothpaste, floss __deodorant __wet wipes __hand sanitizer __blister block (first aid section) to rub on feet daily, prevents blisters, optional but super helpful __anti chafing product optional but healing if chafing occurs __mosquito repellant (large) __Hygiene products __3 Zip-lock bags (each containing a daily change of underclothes & socks) __3 sets underclothes ____3 daily changes of socks (suggestion: make sure to get good hiking socks. They can be found at any sporting goods store. Make sure your shoes/boots fit comfortably with thick socks. Modern socks reduce the likelihood of blisters. __Extra pair of shoes (to wear if your other pair causes blisters and to wear during river crossings. Shoes will be changed before and after crossings) __Plastic bag for wet shoes __Paperback Book of Mormon (in a Ziplock) __Journal (in a ziplock) __Extra set of pioneer clothes (skirt, drawers & top for girls) (pants & shirt for boys) __Nightwear (something warm to sleep in, not for visiting around camp) __Small flashlight, __Special activity outfit/Gear:

__Knee length dark shorts __thick Dark colored t-shirt __Sports bra for girls __Optional small towel

Bulky Items (that won't fit in the bucket)

__Sleeping pad (roll into a tube and place in the pillow case or bag) __Sleeping bag (stuff into the tube) __Whatever you are bringing for chilly nights (warm shawl, wool shirt, sweater or jacket in pioneer flavor if possible. Eating utensils with your name on them to be put in a bag in the cart: __Thick pie tin (not thin foil) __Metal cup (thrift store) __Metal spoon & fork (thrift store) Items to have readily accessible at the back of the cart (cart caddy) __Rain poncho ($ Store) (or large garbage bag for poncho) __Leather palm gloves

Please Do Not Bring: Music Curling irons Make-up Books (except your journal and Book of Mormon) Jewelry Electronic devices Cell phones Or anything that might be a distraction

We can have some wonderful “time travel”

moments as we enjoy letting go of daily worries &

distractions, feeling as though our pioneer

friends are encouraging us on our personal journeys.

Water Bottle (could be clipped to belt) __Lip protection __Sunscreen, travel size (reapply throughout the day) __Pocket pack Kleenex Optional items: __Folding pocketknife (only folding) __Sunglasses __Itch relief for bug bites Snacks… No commercial packaging. __Beef jerky in baggies. __Hydration packets to add to water __Salt water taffy
