How can you shape up your fine art collection with this? You can shape up your fine art collection easily in few steps: thematic wholeness, aesthetic quality of the works, Successfulness of the artists you collect, etc. But as for me, the key option is in having your own philosophy in making collection. If you’ve decided to start a collection of photography it’s really important to have a grasp on the aesthetical bases and purposes of this wonderful art. Otherwise, it would be extremely difficult to choose a truly good and worthwhile piece. Once I was surfing the internet and came across a question in blog – what is fine art photography? I was stricken with the various ways people tried to describe it. Their definitions looked more like exercises in eloquence – “Projection of reality into the soul”, “energy of the moment”, “freezed second”… It all sounded beautiful, but honestly, I see no sense in such discussions. Photography is what it literary means in Greek translation – “drawing with light”. And it’s up to the author, whether to make a shot a reflection of his own world or not. Photographers don’t change the reality, but still they can change the reality of the viewers. When talking about nature of photography, I would divide it into two types: Windows-photos” and “Mirror-photos“.

When talking about nature of photography, I would divide it into two types:Windows-photos and Mirror-photos.Windows are the shots of the surrounding world untouched by the personality of the author and his vision. They are maximally close to objective reality (if it exists at all). Ability to notice, to catch just the precise moment, when all elements in the frame merges into harmonious picture is a unique talent. They often call it documentary photography, yet Im sure its much bigger than that. Windows-shots capture the essence of things, their atmosphere. The artist needs to behold, not simply to gaze at the scene, to produce them. That is why we all like looking through old photos they are our windows into the Past. But sometimes such images can be too sterile and cold. Therefore, I prefer the second type:Mirror photographs. They are ultimately personal in representing the artists vision. In such shots, reality is turned into a material, from which the message of the author is shaped up. For achieving desired results, photographers use various technical devices (filters, lens) and software to elaborate image.Nowadays contemporary artists have to poses both technical and aesthetical knowledge. Yet, not all fruits of civilization are beneficial for usIndustrialization has played a mean joke with photographers. Because of the tremendous numbers of images that appear every day, of tasteless street publicity and internet advertisement, our visual environment is contaminated. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible now to take a picture in the city without shop-signs, billboards appearing in the frame. We luck purity visual purity in the outer surrounding and spiritual purity in the souls.Looking for them, I decided to undertake a journey to Cambodia in 2013, where my photographic series Inside Doors Angkor Collection was born. Those scenes with doors of the Angkor temples, which you can enjoy on this page, are the mirrors mirrors of my deep enlightenment and fascination with the place. With todays oversaturated market and more pieces than ever before seen in the history of this relatively young medium, this question of photographys hierarchy rings even louder. Where does one draw the line between a simple amateur snapshot and an image worthy of greater exploration and investing in, despite a hefty price tag? Here are some Aesthetic refinement. No specific comments are needed here. Your eyes and visceral feeling are the best instruments not to pass by a really something really exquisite and sublime. The name of the artist. The easiest way is purchasing creations of already well-known authors, who have solid reputation in the photographic sphere. Nevertheless, the easiest way is not always the right and beneficial one. JohnSzarkowski, a recognized expert, once said, Buy a photograph for whats on the front, not the back. And he is absolutely right! You can be the architect of your own success find an evolving artist you like (probably, you have already found one ) and support him. The results wont keep you waiting. Rarity. Math is very simple here: the rarer the image the higher its price.

And my works from Inside Doors series have edition only of ten certified digigraphie prints. Provenance.
