How to Keep Appointments If you are an adult who is working, going to school, or doing both, you know that your life can at times

be extremely busy. There are many events, classes, and meetings to attend, and overall dozens of

appointments to keep.

Having a busy life can at times be very overwhelming. You may wonder how you can possibly keep up

with all the appointments you have to keep, and still enjoy your life.

Time Management Keeping appointments is all about time management. If you can learn to manage your time

appropriately, you will find it much easier to keep track of all the things you need to get done and

appointments you need to keep.

A crucial item you’ll need to start working on keeping appointments better is a daily agenda. Agendas

can be very beneficial in helping you to realize and organize how many things you have going on.

Make sure to keep your agenda updated each week with

all of the appointments you have. If you are a person who

is chronically late to everything, make sure you leave 10

or 15 minutes before your appointments so you avoid

being late.

In order to make specific important appointments, make

sure that you give yourself enough time to get ready. The

night before, think about how much time you’ll need to

get ready before the appointment.

Visualize certain events in your head, like eating breakfast, showering, choosing an outfit, putting on

makeup, etc. This will help you calculate how much time you’ll need to get ready so you can wake up on

time.

Make sure you factor in transportation time as well. It is a good idea to leave extra time in case

unexpected problems arise.

Also, if you feel like you’re going to be late, you are more likely to feel anxious and stressed. This will not

help you be calm during your appointment.

Being On Time If it is important that you make a good first impression at your appointment, it is imperative that you be

punctual. Being late to a job interview or another important appointment reflects very badly on your

personal character and self-discipline.

Make sure that you bring all important materials with you to your appointment. If you are expected to

speak to a group or make a presentation of any kind, make sure you are prepared.

If you don’t have to make a presentation, make sure you bring your personal

agenda and a pen, so you can make quick notes as needed. If you can’t make

your appointment for some reason, make sure you take the appropriate

steps to minimize problems.

First, make sure your excuse is valid. Being very sick, having transportation

issues, or attending a funeral of a loved one are all valid and credible excuses

for missing an appointment.

If you have to miss an appointment, just realize that it will not be the end of

the world. If you have become in expert in keeping appointments, perhaps

an event planning degree would be the right choice for you.

An event planning degree will allow you to use your supreme ability to keep appointments to help other

people plan their important appointments. If planning is a hobby for you, then this degree could

definitely be a good fit for your life.
