How to get it In the download page, click ‘download video editor’.


downloading

Wait for it to finish downloading.


Downloaded

When done downloading, click to install.


Downloaded Click ‘yes’.

Select language then click ‘ok’.

congratulations You now have VSDC video editor. Click ‘close’.

*the default settings are actually set for standard, unless you want to tweak them to your preference

Click ‘import videos and images’. Then click ‘finish’.


dashboard The sequence wizard opens. Drag your video/image file in the box.

dashboard Click the file. You can view the preview on the right side of the dashboard.

*although you could still edit out the sequencing later on, it is painstakingly tedious, so better plan the sequencing the files you’ll be adding here to save time.


dashboard You can also add a transition in between files. Place

them on these arrows.


dashboard Choose from the different kinds of transitions here just beside the

preview window (right side is the list view), right at the center of the sequence wizard window is the preview of transitions.

dashboard Just drag the transition you want into the arrow, when it turns green

it means transition is already loaded.

Editor dashboard See those grid lines. Don’t worry they are just grid guides,

you can disable them though if you’re uncomfortable. Just click the icon.


navigation At the left side is your “map”/ explorer panel as you add

elements to your video it will be reflected here.

Basic editing Let’s first tackle how sprites functions.

In tab “scene 0” ; “Layers: Sprite”

So here we have the entire video output. Meaning all the videos and photos (depends on what you have added) are merged and the total length is 54sec.


Basic editing If we go into the sprite tab; “Sprite:Sprite 1”

Here we can now see the individual files/components broken down according to its sequence based on how we put it a while ago in the sequence wizard.


Basic editing So basically sprite acts like a batch of scenes.

Under the sprite tab; in its layers they are broken down separately. Here we can edit them individually.

You can drag them to change their sequence, and even overlap them *overlapping is more complicated though


Cutting and splitting Cutting and splitting scenes.

On the sprite tab. Select first the ‘video’ file layer or the file itself by clicking on it

Then click properties tab on the right side. Property window will expand.

Click ‘Cutting and Splitting’.

Cutting and splitting So here you can see a micro details of your video.

Like it’s duration into milliseconds. This will help you pinpoint exactly where and what parts

are you going to cut or split.

While a blue marker moves to guide you on the current scene of the video.

First we will mark it by using the marker tool. Click it.



Marking. After clicking you will see a tiny red flag placed at “0”. Just drag it in the starting

point you want to cut


Cutting and splitting So you will be adding two mark basically. To determine the starting point as well as the end point of the scene

you want to cut.



You can also view the timeline details on the lower right side of the window. Under the ‘markers’ tab.


Cutting and splitting So when you are already happy with your selection. You can now move the blue line on the first mark or

starting point.

point or the second marker.

Then on the lower right side. Click ‘add area of deleting’.

Then the time details will be added in the panel.



You can add more selection for deleting. Click ‘start selection’ then select a particular scene.



You can also start selection without adding mark just directly click and hold the blue line then drag.



Then click ‘add are of deleting’. Now there are two areas for

deleting.



if you change your mind and don’t

want to delete a particular selection you can also remove it from the list,

just click to highlight/select then click ‘remove area of deleting’.



Now to delete hence cut scene/s just click ‘cut region’ then ‘apply changes’.

video has been change. Click ‘yes’.


Cutting and splitting You will see now a gap. Depending on how much

of your video you deleted or cut


Cutting and splitting So you just drag the rest of video or image if you want them to be stitched without the gap or else

it will just be a blank screen during the duration of the gap.


Cutting and splitting Also drag this white line at the end of your last clip

to avoid blank screen at the end.


preview If you want to preview what your progress.

Click ‘scenes’. Then click ‘preview scene’.


Adding text Adding text over your video.

Click add text icon.


Adding text Then this settings window will appear.


Adding text On this panel, you select on which particular part of the video will your text appears.


Adding text If it’s all set. Then click ‘ok’.

*make sure you selected text object under the layers panel to be able to move the text box

Changing the color. Click the text box then on the right side toggle properties

Adding text Choose the color you want from the standard or custom pallet.

Click ‘ok’.

Now if you want to edit the font style and size. Click text font then the “…” icon.


Adding text Apply your preferred changes. Click ‘ok’.


Adding text Hit preview scene if you want to see how it looks while playing.


Video overlay This is an awesome one.

How about you want a video on top of another video?

Like that of what you see on news channel.

Same principle with the split screen.


Video overlay Click ‘add video’.


Video overlay Then select the vide you want. Click ‘open’.


Video overlay Just as the text object earlier. Set up the time duration of the video you want

it to appear.

Video overlay So when you check your sprite. It is placed above the timeline you set it to

appear. You can also see here its duration.


Video overlay You can also apply all the editing you want to that video. Drag it to a new

placement. Or even cut and split scenes.


Converting If you’re done editing. And you then now want to convert your file.

Click ‘projects’. Then click ‘export project’


Converting This window will appear. Choose among the formats you want your

project to be saved.


Converting Also there are other settings below you might want to specify.

Like file name, compatibility, etc.


Converting Let’s say you choose the “MPG” format. Click it.


Converting Don’t forget to tick also ‘join scene to single’.


Converting Then click ‘convert files’


Converting Then wait for it to complete conversion.


Converting Conversion completed. Go check it and play it.


End Video editing is overwhelming in the beginning, but if you

are willing to learn, it won’t hurt trying. The key here is to experiment. Don’t be afraid to hit those

buttons by then you will discover its use. And in no time you are enjoying it.
