How WBL is implemented in North Carolina
Brief History of North Carolina’s Implementation of WBLDV
2011: Volunteered to participate in evaluating LTSDV for the NRC
• Converted legacy RAM data from Access 2003 to SQL Server Database
• Integrated NC legacy RAM data into data structure of LTSDV• Used Visual Studio to create ASP.NET web site to append to LTSDV
for Licensing and Inspections
Brief History of North Carolina’s Implementation of WBLDV
• Used Crystal Reports to create reporting structure for data mining and template development for Licensing and Inspections
• Standardized RAM Licenses templates for each type of license• Standardized RAM Inspection templates for each type of inspection
July, 2014: Converting LTS Data to new WBLDV format to begin using WBLDV
How NC Licensing is implemented in WBLDV
How NC Inspections are implemented in WBLDV
• Use more powerful SQL database• Improved data mining capabilities• Allows quick searches to assist in incidents, source locations,
information requests from other agencies such as border patrol, state highway patrol, fusion centers, FBI, etc.
• Provides Inspection tracking and scheduling
Advantages of WBLDV
• Licenses are standardized• Quick location of licensee information for license and inspection
staff because it is web-based• Eventually Licensees will be able to access WBLDV via the web for
their information• Permits searching by any of the information recorded in WBLDV
(like AU’s, RSO’s, Materials, etc.) that was not able to be searched in the legacy data
Advantages of WBLDV
