LABORATORY OF GEOCULTURAL ANALYSIS
The Laboratory of Geocultural Analyswithin the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation the Ionian University, located in the island of Corfu.
GEOLAB is an educational institute of DFLTI, founded by Presidential Decree 9/2002. Its research and educational programmes extend in the fields of international relationgovernance, economic geography, geopolitics, political science, comparative law, diplomatic history, international economic relations, economic crime (AML, Corruption)European institutions, intercultural studies and foreign languages, countries’ and culture-studies. GEOLAB is situated at the centre of the city of Corfu.
Besides support from Ionian University, GEOLAB receives no additional government funding. Contributions are received from foundations, corporations, and individuals. Other revenue is generated from research and scientific services, as well as the sale of publications, which include the “Library of the Laboratory for GeoPapazisi Publications, Athens.
The Interim Rules of Procedure of GEOLAB are included in the PD 9/200was established in the framework of the Ionian University / Department of Foreign Languages Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI).

GEOLAB is governed by its Director. The Scientific Board advises the Director in academic matters while the Secretariat assists him in administrative matters. He coordinates the Academic Research Units.

ANNUAL EVENTS Rosetta Lectures
The Rosetta Lecture is an annual event where a scholar of the highest international repute is invited to deliver a public talk on one of the subject matters relevant to GEOLAB research, or any other subject the Scientific Board and the Director may deem of scientific importance. The event is organized by GEOLAB staff and exposure is given to it through various media. Every Rosetta Lecture is recorded and made available in the GEOLAB website.
ELECTIVE SUBJECTS AND SEMINARS OFFERED BY GEOLAB
The Courses and Seminars are usually 2h long and students from every Department of Ionian University can freely elect them; such courses are included in the Program of the Department of Foreign Languages Translation and Interpreting of Ionian University.
