Wednesday 16 October 2019:
Our lunch time flight departs from OR Tambo International in Johannesburg onboard Emirates to
Dubai, where we’ll stretch our legs before boarding our onward flight to Bangkok.
Thursday 17 October 2019:
We land mid-morning and head down the coastline to the old hometown of the Thai Royal Family…
and home to the best golf to be found in Thailand, and arguably Asia-Pacific.
With two stunning pools and accompanying bars (one of which is perched right on the beach), lovely
spacious rooms, lofty restaurant with great food, and consistently great service, we return once again
to our favourite hotel in Hua Hin.
After check-in, and with a little time for a power nap or a swim and a cold beer, we’ll head off for a
brief orientation walk to get you familiar with the surroundings and how the town works. We’ll make
sure you know where the closest supermarket & ATMs are, laundry, shuttles, malls, nightlife, & more.
Friday 18 October 2019:
We play our first round of golf today, at the stunning Springfield Royal. Rated by many in our last
group to Hua Hin as the best layout on tour, this Jack Nicklaus design is as good as it gets. It’s an
enjoyable challenge for every level of golfer, and is the ideal way to warm up for the week ahead.

Being the start of the weekend, the nearby Cicada Market is open and is host to an array of stalls for
both goods & food, as well as several performers scattered around (some on formal stages, some just
playing anywhere they can find a spot). It’s regarded as one of the best markets in Thailand, and is not
to be missed. Better yet, it’s just a 5min walk from the hotel entrance.
Saturday 19 October 2019:
Today’s completely at leisure, but there’s plenty to choose from in case putting your feet up and lazing
next to the pool doesn’t appeal to you.
The town is full of little gems for the sightseers, like the gorgeous and brightly painted old railway
station (a local monument). One of the popular options for today, which we’ll arrange as an optional
excursion for those who wish to go, is a trip to the infamous Bridge Over The River Kwai.
Enroute back, there are a few options… including a swim at the beautiful Erawan Waterfall, visiting
the typical eastern floating market, or use the opportunity to taste some new world wines at the Hua
Hin Vineyards. It’s a unique opportunity and makes for some great photos from the deck, while
sampling some local wine and a light meal from their restaurant. Keep an eye out for the elephants
walking through the vineyards!

The Cicada Market is open again, as well as the Hua Hin Night Market. Alternatively, head down to the
centre of town for some late night revelry. It’s certainly a lot less chaotic than the infamous Pattaya &
Bangkok, but you’re assured of having a great time no matter what your preference.
Sunday 20 October 2019:
We can’t take the whole weekend off, so today the golfers tackle the breathtaking Sea Pines Golf
Course… with several holes running right along the beach. It’s a great parkland course with excellent
facilities, and always in good condition. But watch out for the water…

Being Sunday, it’s your last chance to catch the Cicada Market if you haven’t yet been… or head up
Chopsticks Hill (short walk along the beach from the hotel) for sunset from above. Whatever you
choose, we’re sure you’ll make the most of it and celebrate being on holiday.
Monday 21 October 2019:
Banyan is right up there on the “must play” list when visiting Thailand, and the golfers head there
today for their third round of golf… nice and close to the hotel allowing maximum time after finishing
to make the most of the day on holiday.
From the moment you step out the van, everything is simply amazing at Banyan and we love visiting
the course. From the pro shop to the facilities, course to the 19th hole (the famed Mulliagans Irish
Pub), it’s fantastic and no wonder it’s regularly voted the “Best golfing experience in Asia” and “Top 3
in Asia”! Natural set along the hillside, you’ll enjoy spectacular mountain and sea views on a great
layout which is one of the most natural in Thailand. A mix of local grass on the fairways, Paspalum on
the tees and premium Bermuda grass greens make for a great mix… both visually and for play.
There’ll be an optional excursion departing after golf, to the old Summer Palace of the Royal Family –
dating back to 1923. Built from teak and right on the beach, it was recently restored to its originally
glory and gives a great insight into the old lifestyle and history. Enroute back, we’ll make a stop at

Plearnwan for a trip back to the 50s and a look at early Hua Hin. Part market, part food mall, part
fairground, it’s a great way to spend the day & engross yourself in a bit of the local culture & lifestyle.
Tuesday 22 October 2019:
Today is completely at leisure With a host of malls and markets in town, you certainly won’t struggle
for choice if shopping is on your agenda. Or else, why not escape the city and explore the surrounding
areas. There is plenty to be seen and done, including a variety of temples, statues and historical sites.
For those who wish to head to the Khao Sam Roi Yoi National Park south of Hua Hin, we can certainly
arrange an optional excursion for you to visit and explore the vast & impressive limestone hills along
the Gulf of Thailand, the wetlands (the largest in Thailand) and the beautiful Phraya Nakhon Cave with
its iconic royal pavilion and huge chambers.
Wednesday 23 October 2019:
In it’s first 10 years, Black Mountain racked up a long list of accolades including seven times awarded
best golf course in Thailand, three times awarded best course in Asia-Pacific and twice awarded best
championship course in Asia-Pacific. As they say, leave the best for last… and so it’s here that we head
for our fourth and final round in Hua Hin.

Once jungle and pineapple plantations, the course is surrounded by huge black granite rock covered
mountains and is a visual feast… looking as natural as can be and maintaining many of the landscapes
original features. That black granite is used through the course in small creeks and other design
elements. A test for the top professionals, it’s very playable for the average golfer… with every hole
providing a “safe route” as well as a “high risk, high reward” option. How will you tackle it?
Being the last night in Hua Hin, we’re sure there’ll be a party to be had… and we’re pretty sure it’ll
start at the hotel’s beachside pool & bar. With a sunset like this, we won’t blame you!
Thursday 24 October 2019:
After a morning at leisure for that last minute shopping, or sleeping late after a good finishing off
party, we head back to Bangkok’s Survarnabhumi International Airport for our homeward flight.
Those who wish to extend the holiday have the option of a pre-packaged stop in Bangkok, staying at
a 4-star hotel in an ideal location for easy exploration and easy access to get to golf, and the airport.
Alternatively, you can also choose to stop off in Dubai for a few days there.
For those flying home, we stop off in Dubai for a leg stretch and to say cheers to each other… before
we all head our different ways, depending on where in South Africa you’re heading. Flights back to
Johannesburg and Cape Town will arrive in South Africa mid-morning, allowing for onward travel.

Friday 25 October 2019:
Those flying to Johannesburg (or Cape Town) are scheduled to land in South Africa mid-morning…
perfect for onward connections if you still have further to travel.
We look forward to sharing Hua Hin in October this year.
