Google Tour Builder – Google Apps for Education (GAFE)
TASK: Your task will be to take your classmates on a tour of a supermarket in France
where you plan to buy everything you need from your shopping list. You may include specialty
food stores.
STEPS: First log-in to GAFE. Then find pictures and descriptions of specific food items
from the grocery list you created. Save these pictures to the desktop or student account.
While in the media center, listen carefully to the explanation of Google Tour
Builder. After the presentation you may navigate on your own. As you explore, notice different
supermarkets in France and where they are located. You will set up a virtual tour of your
preferred French supermarket and write a narrative of your shopping experience (in French of
course!)
Requirements:
Title Page with the name of your tour, your name and a picture representing France
8 – 10 photos - each one of a FOOD item on your grocery list. Search French Images.
A narrative - written in FRENCH. Use complex sentences.
Express what you bought and why. Express where you found the item, how much did it cost.
Express if you prepared a recipe.
Expand ideas using “parce que” / “mais aussi” / “Je pense que …” / “nous trouvons que …”
Closing activity: make up a 6 question quiz for a classmate. He/she will have to take your
virtual tour in order to answer all of the questions on the quiz. Following are some examples
of good questions:
o What are the names of three French cheeses you found on my tour?
o What is the cost of a baguette and a liter of milk?
