Activity 1: Garden Treasure Hunt – Learning what is in our gardens is important as garden can provide food, beauty and play to all our lives. We are RESPONSIBLE for looking after our environment, so the more we know, the better we can show RESPECT to nature. You will need –

Pen/Pencil Coloured pencils/textas

Book Camera (optional) Treasure hunt list

Can you find: • something fuzzy • something soft • something that is a warm colour (yellow, red or orange) • an insect • a smooth pebble or stone • a quiet place or secret spot • something that smells spicy • something shiny

Step 1 - Create a Treasure Hunt List; In your Book, write down the items you see in the treasure hunt list provided. THEN, add some of your items you can think of that you might like to find.

Step 2 – Check with an adult about where you will be exploring and make sure an adult is with you when in the front garden!

Step 3 – Go out and explore; write down, draw/take a photo of each item you have found, for example (see below)

Something bumpy I found a log of wood and when I rubbed my hand across it, I could feel lots of bumps and pieces of wood sticking out. It is brown/grey in colour.

Step 4 – Save your work to share at school, family members and friends.

Activity 2: Step 1 - Name the recipe Look at the two images below and guess what the recipe is called. Write it below;

Define what FILLING means in food (use google or dictionary to help):If you were to make rice paper rolls, what fillings would you put in?
