The future has never looked brighter for the beef industry. With beef cattlenumbers at an all time low, the outlook is very positive for prices to remainstrong for many years.

This year we made a major change to our feeding regime. The bulls are onTMR (Total Mixed Ration). We are totally impressed with the athleticism andperformance of our bulls. With a TMR, we know exactly what our bulls are

consuming and it has enabled us to develop bulls with longevity and productivity.

Cameron Isaac—Doug’s right hand man. This is his third winter working for us part time;we can’t express our gratitude enough for all the help he does around the cattle from

feeding and calving to helping with the bulls.

This is truly a family operation with everyone pitchingin to help whenever and wherever they can. Although the kids are now grown, they have been active in the CharolaisYouth organization with Michael in his last year as Canadian past-president. Doug has also been very active at theassociation level of the Manitoba Charolais Association and has just stepped down from years on the board, of whichmany were spent as Secretary/Treasurer. The point being, this family is involved and very committed to the breed andthe industry.

Their bull pen this year is very strong from top to bottom with everything from calving ease bulls up to big timeperformance bulls and everything in between. You will find something for every program with most of the bulls being

polled and some red factor as well. The bulls are sound, good haired and are backedby some of the best people you will meet in the business. Welcome to our 2nd Annual Sale

Feeding: Well, it is bull sale season again and it has been an absolute pleasure working with Doug and Marianne to develop their 2012-2013 bull calf crop. The Hunters took a major step this year by changing to a TMR (total mixed ration) on the bull develop program.When I balanced the rations we aim to give these young potential herdsires every possible opportunity to become old herdsires in theircustomer’s breeding program. We treat them like they are athletes, so we want them to be muscular without excessive fat cover. Givingthem the great feet and legs needed to cover your cow herds. They move absolutely fantastic. Also when balancing the ration we ensuretrace minerals and vitamins are high enough so these bulls reach their genetic potential in sexual maturation and testiculardevelopment. They are fed a high percentage of corn silage and hay along with their grain on a daily basis, this builds great hair coats,guts and capacity that are required in our enviroment. So step up and buy with confidence, knowing these bulls will get the job done foryou like they have in all the past years.

They have also been given an endectocide twice sincelast fall.The bulls have also been vaccinated against footrot withFusogard. They have been done twice this spring but dorequire a booster before breeding season (especially if theyare not used until later in the year.)

TERMS & CONDITIONS Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale inCanadian funds. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will bereleased. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made. Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale mayphone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives.Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made,the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. Theauctioneer’s decision is final. Announcements: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence overprinted matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention toannouncements. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animalswill be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left withthe seller must be insured. Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the CanadianCharolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyerafter payment has been made. Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agreesshipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon aspractical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk. Breeder Guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove abreeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported inwriting to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months afterthe bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of sixmonths to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bullwill freeze. Exception Guarantee: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgicalreproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is notresponsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or forsickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more thanthe purchase price. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort ofbuyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility anddisclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsiblefor failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of anywarrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation toenforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for anycredit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must bebetween the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfilment of allguarantees and representations.
