AUSTRALIAN HUNTER HORSE ASSOCIATION - RULES & REGULATIONS/DEFINITIONS 1. All Exhibitors & Competitors enter at their own risk. 2. The Australian Hunter Horse Association shall not be responsible for the loss of, or for any damage or injury occasioned to

any exhibit or property of any exhibitor(s) from any cause whatsoever. 3. NON MEMBERS of AHHA must pay an event membership fee to compete. AHHA members please provide member

number on entry form. 4. Full annual AHHA MEMBERSHIP may be applied for with entries to receive discounted entry fee. 5. EVENT DAY MEMBERSHIP; $15.00 per individual competitor. Not eligible for discounted entry or AHHA Members classes. 6. WRISTBANDS - all exhibitors and competitors will be asked to show wristband when entering the ring. Wristbands will

only be allocated to competitors who have membership, are listed on entry forms and have signed a waiver. 7. The organising committee and ground jury reserve the right to alter the program, judges or schedule. 8. All horses competing in AHHA REGISTERED classes must be registered with the Australian Hunter Horse Association.

Competitors entering AHHA MEMBERS classes must be current financial members of AHHA. 9. All horses competing in Breed Classes must be registered with a relevant breed/colour society. Registration papers to be

produced upon request. Registration number to be provided on entry form. 10. ENTRY FEES shall accompany the entry form and are non refundable after the closing date of entries. Payment can be made

by cheque, money order or direct deposit. Only full AHHA members eligible for discounted entry. 11. EXHIBIT NUMBER will be allocated to every horse/pony. Results will be recorded by this number. Numbers to be worn by

horse in breast plate holder or pinned to the rider/handler jacket. 12. The judge’s decision is final, subject to all conditions being met. 13. No exhibitor may show an exhibit bred by, or leased from the judge or their family in the ring which the judge is officiating. 14. No person under any circumstance, may approach a judge to question or dispute any decision or action. 15. PROTESTS: An exhibitor may lodge a protest against a competitor/judge. Protests must be lodged in writing with the show

secretary within 30 minutes of the disputed action, accompanied by a fee of $100.00 which will be forfeited if not upheld. In the first instance, protests must be dealt with by the show committee whom may refer the matter to the AHHA committee of management. Any person who has a protest lodged against him/her has the right of reply. Any expenses incurred by any party to the said protest shall be borne by that party

16. Stallions are only permitted to be handled/ridden by riders over the age of 18yrs. 17. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure they are aware of where each ring is up to with the classes being judged. In

the event of clashing events, it will be at the discretion of the judge to hold their ring for competitors. The onus is on the exhibitor to ensure that he/she has sufficient handlers for all exhibits.

18. The committee reserves the right to refuse or withdraw any entry/entries without having to assign a reason. 19. In the event of a handler/rider becoming separated from their horse, due to a fall or loss of control. The exhibit will be

disqualified from continuing in the event in which the incident occurred. 20. All riders are required to wear approved safety helmet and boots when mounted, any breach of this rule may lead to the

riders disqualification. 21. CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES: FRIDAY 18

23. All entries must include a PIC number (property identification code). Effective from 1st

September 2012. Anyone who keeps horses in NSW are required to obtain a property identification code (PIC) for the land on which the horses are kept. 26. FASHIONS ON THE FIELD: Entrants to compete with horse/pony in hand. No workout will be required. Judged on style, suitability, overall appearance co-ordinated with horse. Closed in toe shoes must be worn.

27. SMARTEST ON PARADE: Will be judged on presentation & turnout of mount & rider. No workout will be asked for 28. NEWCOMER: must not have competed under saddle prior to 1/1/15. To be ridden in a snaffle bit. 29. NOVICE: must not have won a 1

st place in this type of event previously.

30. INTERMEDIATE HUNTER OR HACK: Must not have placed first, second or third in an open event at any Royal Show, or previously won a champion ridden open show hunter at an AHHA State Show Hunter Championships Show.

31. SHOWRIDING MOUNT: Entry is open to all horses/ponies competing as hunters or hacks at this show. Classes will be judged on workout & true to show riding mount type in appearance. Further information is available on the hunter website

32. WORKING HUNTER: classes will be run under the AHHA guidelines as per the website. 33. SHOW HUNTER OR HACK: Exhibits may only compete as a hunter or a hack not both. 34. YOUTH RIDER: Under 17yrs, can compete in all other rings, must be riding their regular mount 35. INTERMEDIATE YOUNG RIDER: Riders must never have competed at Royal or HOTY Show (pony club, leading rein exempt) 36. AMATEUR OWNER RIDER: Rider must never have trained or competed an exhibit for another person. 37. PRIZES: Not collected on the day will be forfeited.
