Hello!!  I am Ondine Barnt, your very proud Sales Director....you've probably already heard from me, but wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself!

I am here to support, educate, and guide you on your incredible journey in Mary Kay! I am usually in my office from 10:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, and I love to work with consultants!! We are one of the fastest growing Units in all of Montana, so you may get a voicemail even during office hours.  Please do leave a message with all your questions (otherwise I do not know that you have called) and I will get back to you as soon as possible. You and your success are of the utmost importance to me. Mary Kay Image is a DRESS CODE: We always wear a dress, a skirted business suit, or a professional skirted outfit any time we are representing our company. This means every meeting, workshop, business debut, skin care class, or selling appoint- ment. We represent the #1 selling brand of Skin Care and Color cosmetics in thecoun-try and one of the TOP 5 Brands in the WORLD, and we should show it!Most professions have a dress code...when my friends worked for the Forest Service, they had a uni-form that included green pants, green shirt, and even green socks!!! Trust me, our “uniform” of a professional dress of some sort is so GREAT!!

Marv Kay: Image Tips From Barbie

In 2003, Mary Kay offered a collector's edition Barbie as a Star Consultant Prize. There was a lot of excitement about her, and we learned some very interesting information about her design. One of the National Sales Directors shared that Mattel sent the company a prototype doll for design approval. She arrived with big fluffy hair, a very short skirt, no hose, and strappy shoes. Mary Kay sent her back! "Star Consultant Barbie is a businesswoman!" they said. "She needs to look professional!" So Barbie got a makeover. You'll notice that Star Consultant Barbie is well-groomed, tasteful, and tailored. She looks feminine, yet ready for business. She dresses the part and is ready for success. If she could talk, she'd have a thing or two to tell us about image. Since she can't, I'll take a guess at what she might say!

Barbie's make-up looks great! Check the Look Book, fashion magazines, and your sister Consultants to make sure your colors are current and that your application is flat tering. If you don't feel confident in this area, ask your Director or a sister Consultant for help. If you've been wearing the same colors for years, it's time for a change!

Barbie has chosen one Mary Kay pin to wear. Keeping pins to a minimum main tains a professional look. They're all im portant; just don't wear them all at once!

Barbie is headed to the top in her Star Recruiter Red Jacket and her Star Con sultant Pin. These symbols of success are important goals for any Consultant! With consistent sales and team building efforts, you too can reach these levels of achievement.

At all Mary Kay events, you can bet Barbie has brought her notebook, her datebook, and her check book. Make it a point to always have those three things with you!

Barbie's hair is professional and up to-date. I've heard it said that if you haven't had a compliment on your hair in the last two weeks, you need to "cut it, dye it, or buy some more!" If you've worn your hair the same way for a long time, consider a consultation with a stylist you trust.

Barbie's smile is contagious! The most important part of your image is your atti-

.a-------1 tude! Be positive and look for the solutions, not the problems, in everything you see. You'll attract customers by your en thusiasm.

Mary Kay Consultants have long been set apart by their attire. We ask that you always wear a skirt to all MK functions and selling situa tions. This means a dress or skirted suit or outfit that could be consid ered business attire. Be sure the skirt is in a flattering length for you. Skirts that are too short don't look professional.

Your professional image doesn't have to cost a lot of money. If your wardrobe doesn't include business attire, invest in one or two quality outfits you really like and then wear them to everything! Many Consultants wear a white blouse and black skirt until they are in their Red Jackets. Those pieces will be great addi tions to your closet, and you'll be ready for the Jacket when you earn it! Quality clothing always pays off.

time - not just when you are going to a Skin Car Class. They will definitely notice!

Keep your business earnings separate from personal accounts. Don’t allow yourself to ask your husband for the money you need to keep an adequate inventory because you didn’t handle your business finances properly.

Prepare a warm meal for your family before you leave for a Unit meeting or Skin Care Class once in a while.

Spend time with your family while you stamp literature or do other

busy work.

Ask their advice sometimes. (Remember, they will support what they

help create!)

Compliment your husband and the rest of your family often for their

help and suggestions.

Surprise your husband with a special “I Appreciate You” gift with

some of your earnings. Make your family feel needed. Ask them to help you load your

car, stock product or prepare a presentation. Treat your husband to an evening out alone with you!

Celebrate your first $150 class or first team member with them.

The Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I couldn’t fail. The same four walls and busy work were really more like jail.

I longed, so much, to do the things I’d never done before,But I stayed within my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t doing much,I said I didn’t care for things like diamonds, cars and such.

HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR RECEIPTS

We tell our Mary Kay clients that the best way to keep their receipts in an orderly fashion is to go to an office supply store and buy an expandable accordion folder. You will need one with about 20 pockets. On the tab of each pocket you would list the categories as outline below:

1. Gross Receipts or Sales - Pink tickets (less sales tax) and weekly summary sheets.

2. Returns and Allowances - Bad checks, including service fees

3. Other Income - Dovetail income, 1099 from Mary Kay/Commission Statement

4. Advertising - Direct support, business cards, fair booths, old product donated to charity, etc.

5. Car And Truck Expenses -A. Parking, tolls and mileageB. If you have a Mary Kay car or lease car you need to keep track of ail receipts,

such as gas, oil changes, service and repairs, car washes, etc.

6. Commissions - Dovetail expense, office help, secretaries

7. Depreciation - Items costing over $100 such as desks, filing cabinets, answering ma- chines, computers, TV's, VCR's

8. Insurance - Product insurance, business liability, etc.

9. Interest - Interest on loans, office equipment, processing fees for customer credit cards, annual fees for business credit cards

10. Legal And Professional Services - Tax return preparation, bookkeeping, etc.
