The Ian Coley group of companies is comprised

of the Ian Coley Gunshop, Ian Coley Sporting and the Ian Coley Shooting School. Ian is renowned in the shooting world for both clay and game shooting. He is the GB Olympic Team Coach who successfully coached Richard Faulds to Olympic Gold at Sydney 2000 and Peter Wilson at London 2012.

Gloucestershire born and bred, he grew up near Cirencester and having started out as a gamekeeper on the nearby Coombe End estate, he then moved to Fletchers gunshop in Cheltenham, the sport having become a major interest in his life. He was already shooting

for his county and then England. But early on he knew he wanted to work for himself and in 1970 he opened Ian Coley Gunsmiths in Cheltenham.

Forty years on he moved his gunshop from the High Street to an attractive new fully equipped shooting school which he had developed just five minutes from Cheltenham.

He has expanded his business over the years alongside an extremely successful shooting and coaching career.

Every customer is important, and from the outset he would travel the motorways and byways of England, to meet new and existing clients.

He was a pioneer in the early 80s, with brother Chris, of the concept of corporate clay days based at stately homes and 30 years ago he started what has become one of Britain’s best and most trusted sporting agencies. As well as some outstanding partridge and pheasant shoots in the Cotwolds, his contacts reach far and wide.

Game Shots find themselves completely at home in the redeveloped shooting school. The setting of the shooting stands are very natural, and high birds of 130’ can be presented.

And of course it offers the perfect opportunity to "try before you buy". The ground caters for the experienced Shot and novice alike.
