About Us

Established in 1976, IBI Chematur (Engineering and Consultancy) Ltd. is a

joint venture company promoted in association with Chematur Engineering AB

(Sweden) and is a part of the Chematur Engineering Group.

We are an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, focused on providing high-

quality and cost-effective engineering services. Our scope of work ranges from

technical know-how and basic engineering to detailed engineering and set-up

services for chemical process plants.

Over the years the name IBI Chematur has become synonymous with quality

and reliability. Situated in Mumbai close to the international airport, with a

workforce of over 100 skilled engineers and 1300 sq. meters of developed

office space we have executed numerous projects both in India and abroad.

We work seamlessly with our international clients through high-end ITinfrastructure with features such as a 2 Mbps leased line connectivity, server

sharing and advanced tools such as web conference.

As a part of our continuing efforts to enhance and improve our technologies,

we are in the process of setting up a state of the art R & D facility at Mumbai.

The Research Center will specifically look into ideas on renewable energy and

Green chemicals.

EDA Engineering Design Automation

IBIC Engineering (a division of IBI Chematur Ltd.) provides plant design services for the chemical process industry.

We widely use the acclaimed SmartPlant suite of software by Intergraph, a sophisticated engineering toolset that

generates an intelligent and efficient output.

The engineering information gives benefits in terms of accuracy, reduced costs, and quick turnaround time. IBIC

Engineering's Engineering Design Automation (EDA) Department provides the following services:

Intelligent 3D Plant Modeling (PDS & SP3D)

Our 3D modeling services cover all plant engineering disciplines such as

equipment, structural, civil, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and HVAC. These

services can be offered using software such as SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), Plant Design

System (PDS) and PDMS.

Deliverables: General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), Isometric Drawings (ISOs),

Material Take Off (MTO).

The entire SmartPlant suite of software is monitored and controlled through SmartPlant Foundation, an informationmanagement system. Foundation minimizes human error and saves project cost and time significantly.

Intelligent P&IDs Using SmartPlant P&ID

The Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) is the fundamental source of

information that is needed in all phases of a plant's lifecycle. The consistent data

transmission from P&IDs is critical to any project. We offer services in

designing/drafting intelligent P&IDs as per international standards and in

maintaining the As-Built status of the P&IDs

Deliverables: Line list, Valve list, Equipment list, Instrument list.

SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)

One of the basic necessities of any chemical plant is stable electrical power. We

address the requirement of creating, modifying, managing and documenting

electrical engineering for the entire plant life cycle using advanced software such as

ETAP and SmartPlant Electrical.

Deliverables: Electrical Equipment Indices, Cable Schedules, Cable Take Offs

(BOM), Electrical Load List, Load per MCC, Power Distribution Board schedules

(PDB)

SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)

Instrumentation is considered to be the sensory system of a chemical plant. It is needed to obtain data essential in

performing several activities such as control, quality assessment, production accounting and failure detection.We

undertake total project instrumentation and control work, using SmartPlant Instrumentation, in compliance with ISA

standards.

Deliverables: Instrument Index, Loop wiring diagrams, Hook-up drawings.

Engineering Services

Process Equipment Design

Process equipments include pressure vessels, heat exchangers, distillation

columns, storage tanks, silos etc. Design of such equipment is carried out in

compliance with international and local codes such as ASME, API, TEMA, BIS etc.

We offer services such as equipment design, review of process data, detailed

engineering (based on the basic design package), preparation of enquiry

specifications, analysis of vendor bids, technical recommendations for order

placement and review of vendor documentation. Approval from third party inspection

authorities can also be arranged.

Software: PV Elite, Tank, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Intergraph SmartSketch

Process Simulation Services

For complex processes, simulation is often necessary to develop the most cost

effective solution. IBIC Engineering has the expertise to optimize all aspects of

process design and develop a comprehensive front end engineering design

(FEED)/ Basic Engineering package.

We undertake scale-up, modeling and estimation work from bench scale to

commissioning as well as troubleshooting of chemical process plants. IBIC

Engineering uses the latest process simulation software for accurate results.

Software: Aspen, ChemCAD, Prosim, Bjac for Heat Exchanger Design.

Rotary and Package Units

We have a specialized team for Rotary and package items which works on

preparation of enquiry specifications, technical Recommendations, Technical order

specifications and review & approval of vendor documentation for such packages.

Project Planning & Management

The IBIC Engineering service spectrum ranges from Concept to Commissioning.

This covers all aspects including project planning and management using highly

efficient project control and monitoring tools.

Our project management service is tailored to the clients' specific needs, giving

them the flexibility to optimize their project schedule with respect to cost, time and

available resources. We are well equipped to handle the entire project, right from

grass root level.

Procurement Assistance

We provide Procurement assistance services such as short listing likely and competent vendors, floating enquiries,

technical and commercial evaluation of offers, negotiation with vendors, preparation of purchase orders and in

assisting placement of orders. Extensive use of our global database helps in identifying competent vendors world

over to minimize project cost.

Inspection Services

IBIC Engineering provides Inspection services such as inspection at vendor

workshops, stage-wise & final inspection of static and rotary equipments, ensuring

inspection by statutory authorities and inspection and witnessing performance tests

for proprietary items such as pumps, blowers, motors etc.

Our team of engineers are highly qualified with expertise in inspection as per

international codes and standards such as BIS, BS, ASME, TEMA, DIN, API, JIS and

NACE.

We also provide on-site quality control services for mounted vessels, tankages,

structural erections and on-site fabrication of large equipment.

Commissioning Assistance

We provide assistance during commissioning of the process plants. Our team of

process, electrical and instrumentation engineers are well conversant with pre-

commissioning and commissioning procedures including troubleshooting activities

required during this phase of the plant.

Site Supervision

We offer site management and supervision services during the erection phase of the

plant. Our engineers at site ensure complete interpretation and implementation of

the design produced during the engineering phase to actual erection of the plant.

We also assist the client in obtaining all statutory approvals from the concernedauthorities with respect to the work done.

Piping Stress Analysis

We undertake Piping Stress analysis covering all stresses such as those related to

static and dynamic loading due to effects of gravity, temperature changes, internal

and external pressures, changes in fluid flow rate and seismic activity. High-end

engineering software are used to ensure the safety of piping, piping components,connected equipment and the supporting structure.
