Note:When you install the image controller (IC-209) or network card (NC-504), using the extended opera-tion panel (MK-733) is recommended.

Note:This manual provides the illustrations of the acces-sory parts and machine that may be slightly differ-ent in shape from yours. In that case, instead of the illustrations, use the appearance of your machine to follow the installation procedure. This does not cause any significant change or problem with the procedure.

II. Installation proceduresNote:

When you install the optional fax kit (FK-510), install it before installing the IC-209/NC-504 to the machine.

1. Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

2. Remove the rear cover. (11 screws)

3. Remove the knockout of the left cover with nip-pers.

Note:When removing the knockout, hold it with your hand to prevent it from being thrown.

4. Attach the supplied plate A to the machine at the position shown in the illustration. (One supplied screw)

Note:When the FK-510 is installed in the machine, this step is unnecessary.

5. Attach the supplied plate B to the machine at the position shown in the illustration. (One supplied screw)

Note:When the FK-510 is installed in the machine, this step is unnecessary.

6. Attach the supplied plate C to the machine at the position shown in the illustration. (One supplied screw)

7. Connect the supplied cable to the machine.Note:

If the fax board is mounted, temporarily remove it. (Three screws and one board holder)

8. Connect the image controller board/network card board to the cable described in step 7.

9. Mount the image controller board/network card board to the machine at the position shown in the illustration. (Four supplied screws)

10. Reinstall the rear cover. (11 screws)Note: • When the optional reverse automatic document

feeder (DF-625) is installed, make sure that the harness cover is not detached, and then attach the rear cover.

• Be aware that only the screw A is different from other screws.

III. Installing the extended operation panel (MK-733)1. Release the two claws using a flat-blade screw-

driver and remove the cover.

2. Connect the cable supplied with the extended operation panel to the machine as shown in the illustration.

3. Connect the other end of the cable described in step 2 to the extended operation panel.

4. Attach the extended operation panel to the machine.

Note:Put the claws of the extended operation panel in the indicated holes and push the panel from above to fit its claws into the holes.

5. Affix the panel sheet supplied with the extended operation panel.

(1) Remove the switching plate.

(2) Affix the panel sheet to the extended operation panel.

Note:Place the proper panel sheet which corresponds to the applicable marketing area.

(3) Reinstall the switching plate that has been removed in step (1).
