IC200 EVO: parametric controllers for air conditioning Dixell introduces its new controllers ICHILL 200 EVO available in 32x74mm format (panel mounting) and 4 DIN. The family is expanded with an expansion module, with different remote keyboards provided with LED or LCD display and with the possibility of using IEV22D / IEV24D driver for stepper motor expansion valve management.

IC200 EVO family is characterized by great flexibility. This allows its use in several types of machine, from simple single circuit chillers up to double circuit heat pumps with domestic hot water production. Every single application is characterized by different requirements in terms of resources needed by the controller (relays, digital inputs, probes); thanks to the possibility of using the expansion module, this series is suitable for all types of machines, even the most complex ones. A great advantage of the high flexibility of the new family, consists in the possibility of standardization of the documentation by machinery manufacturers. Regardless of the size of the machine, the user interface remains the same both in the case of use of the only controller and also if the I/O expansion and the IEV22D / 24D valve driver are added.

2 MAIN FEATURES

2.1 MODULARITY ICHILL200 EVO parametric controllers are available in 2 different formats: 32x74mm for panel mounting, and 4 DIN, designed to be placed directly inside the machine’s panel board. The expansion module (4 DIN format) allows the use of ICHILL200 EVO in those complex applications where the resources available in the controller (probes, digital inputs, relays) are not enough. The connection to IEV drivers for electronic expansion valve management and to LED or LCD remote keyboards (new Visograph 2.0) recommended both for on-board mounting and for domestic environments, ensure the complete solution for the majority of applications. 2.2 FLEXIBILITY Thanks to the appropriate parameters configuration it is possible to use the controller in many applications. Every input and output can be configured as needed, in order to satisfy the application’s needs and to make the installation in the switchboard easier. In case of connection to the IEV valve driver, for example, the low-pressure transducer can be connected to IC200 EVO or directly to IEV driver; in this way, one transducer is enough to calculate the overheating and to control the low pressure, ventilation and defrost. Visualization and management of the machine functioning status are immediate thanks to the display with icons and to the dedicated menu that identify the compressors, fans, water pump status and alarms. 2.3 MAIN FUNCTIONS

MANAGEMENT OF COMPRESSOR TYPES 2.3.1ICHILL200 EVO can control ON-OFF, screw (with 50%, 75% and 100% partialization valve) and inverter compressors. Different functions for machine and compressor functioning optimization are available for every compressor.

REGULATION TYPE 2.3.2Two regulation types are available: neutral or proportional zone. In the neutral zone regulation some useful functions for delicate situations are available, such as the regulation temperature stabilization that prevents the achievement of the set-point; these functions are provided: compressors rotation after a certain working time and forced power-on of additional compressors for set-point achievement.

UNLOADING FUNCTION 2.3.3The Unloading function allows the power partialization (by reducing the active compressors, or inserting partializations in case of screw compressors or reducing the inverter compressor speed) in case of malfunction (for example: if the gas pressure increases/decreases excessively).

COMPRESSORS NUMBER LIMITATION 2.3.4In specific situations, such in the case of heat pumps for domestic hot water with dedicated exchanger, the power of the machine is oversized for the used exchanger. There is the possibility of reducing the number of compressors used for domestic hot water production and therefore solve this problem and save energy.

RESISTORS AND WATER PUMPS WITH ANTI-FREEZING FUNCTION 2.3.5Anti-freezing protection optimization allows the use of the water pumps and/or of anti-freezing resistors, which can be enabled separately. In fact it is possible to select both the reference probe and the temperature thresholds for pumps and/or resistors activation.

CONDENSING UNITS CONTROL 2.3.6The condensing units control has been enhanced with the possibility to manage a compressor’s call by letting the controller choose the one to activate or by setting the direct call of one specific compressor.

CONTROL OF CONDENSING FAN IN DEFROST MODE 2.3.7The management of condensing fans in defrost mode has been optimized thanks to the delineation of specific thresholds for this mode, concerning both temperature/pressures for modulation control and velocity.

DOMESTIC WATER AND ANTI-LEGIONELLA CYCLE 2.3.8It is possible to manage heat pumps for domestic hot water production; installations with 2 or 4 pipes (with dedicated exchanger for domestic water circuit). Several useful functions are available; some of them are listed below:

• possibility of suspending domestic hot water production due to high temperature;

• definition of a minimum temperature threshold for dedicated resistors activation;

• use of resistors as an integration for the heat pump; • anti-legionella cycle management, at time slots or at intervals; • management of the pump reserved for domestic water with related water flow switch.

PASSWORD-PROTECTED ALARM MENU 2.3.9Controllers give the possibility to decide whether to freely access the alarm menu of to set a password for the access. Password-protected access avoids possible alarm resets carried out by unauthorized personnel.

FURTHER FUNCTIONS 2.3.10• Free-cooling: free-cooling valve management, with inner logic, that involves the use of free

cold source. Compressors are activated only if the set-point is not reached in a max set time. • Data Logger contains the data of the latest 100 alarms: time and day (only for models with

clock on board). • Double Set point function with daily activation and 3 different time slots for energy saving. • Dynamic set point based on outdoor air temperature or analog signal 4÷20mA.
