•New for 2011 is the addition of a Thursday C Division
formerly known as Thursday Ladies League. New or existing C
teams are welcome to play on Thursday morning.

Proposed Rule Changes for 2011•Season Starts Wednesday May 4, 2011
•All players must be available for up to 2 hours after the scheduled (agreed
upon) start time and until their match has been completed in its entirety.
•The order of play is to be arranged 36 hours prior to the match. (ie: by
Monday evening at 9 pm) or the order of play shall default to the courts
being played in order i.e. 1,2,3 and 4.
•Arrangements for make-up matches must be agreed upon within one week
of the original match start time, or assumed rescheduled for the make-up
deadline day and time.

Proposed Rule Changes for 2011 (continued)
•If a club has a scheduled makeup day for Ladies League fixtures and can provide four (4) courts prior to or at 9:30 am both teams must play all lines on the day the club allows. For clubs with fewer than four (4) courts allotted for make-up fixtures, the away team may decide whether to play the late court(s) or reschedule individual matches for another day and time.
•The make–up deadline for the first half of the season is Tuesday July 3,2011. The make–up deadline for the second half of the season is the Tuesday prior to the last match of the season.

• Goals for the Junior League− Get as many juniors playing team tennis− Short Term: Increase ICTA club participation from 36% to 50%− Long Term: Increase ICTA club participation to 75%
• What do juniors say about Team Tennis− Proud to represent your club− Meet new people− Variety of play (singles, doubles, mixed doubles)− Play with your friends− Play against different players − Cheer for your teammates− Become better friends on and off the court
• Tennis is a game for life. Get juniors hooked on tennis early

• Why?
- Greater awareness of leagues among clubs
- Court & player availability (minimum 2 courts and 4 players)
- Flexible match start times

Rewritten / Reorganized • Easier to find rule that one is looking for
• Common sense rule additions
Draft approved at the Team Captain’s meeting • A girl can not play as a boy in the WTT league.
• A player can play only one singles and one doubles match per fixture.
• Scheduling stronger players below weaker ones is prohibited.
• Team captain’s and league grievance processes are clearly spelled out.
• Team Eligibility - A roster in which the player’s names and the season match scores
must be entered in Tenniscores.
• Player Eligibility – Must have played a minimum of 2 league fixtures during the
regular season. Forfeits and defaults will be counted as matches played.

Team Captain’s meeting (September 28, 2010)• Start and end all leagues on the same week
• 8 week schedule
• 4 to 7 teams in a division (less travel time)
• Even number of teams preferred (no byes – season is short)
Action Items• Canvass for division chairs (West Boys / Girls, East Boys / Girls)
• Develop plan so club pros better support junior team tennis
• Contact OTA Regional Division Chairs – League awareness and joint promotion
• Contact other junior leagues (encourage/promote WTT)
• ICTA Junior League write up in the OTA Magazine
• Look into presenting ICTA Junior Leagues at TPA Conference and OTA AGM
• Tournament (last week of July – keep the momentum going. 3 clubs to host)

• 149 teams this year 1788 players every week for 14 weeks.(134 teams last year)
• Major league had two divisions, very successful• 8 clubs were represented this year at the tournament• Biggest challenge this year was behavior; 3 clubs replaced
their own captains• Infractions handled ‘with some degree of flexibility in the spirit
of fairness’. ie. playing out of order, no way to really determine who was first, etc. Best way to handle it is let them to handle it fairly.

Number of visitsCurrent number of visitors: 142,512 (an increase of almost 20,000 visits from 2009).
IssuesMost of the issues were account related (about 80%) followed by score entering challenges (about 15%) and other small issues.
Future plansWe’re planning a website re-design for 2011 season, more intuitive and easy to use.
