She lectures on the principles of the course using powerpoint

Order of students to recite is based on seating arrangement

"Relaxed" class; recitations and reports are manageable

Asks students to write codal on board or discuss principles

Gives open notes seatwork whenever she's absent

Difficult essay/situational questions which will require you to have studied both cases and provisions of law

Tricky ("mahirap na madali"), especially her MCQ which does not seem to have a definite answer

May ask you to discuss a case in her exams

In scoring, she only gives either the full credit (5) or a zero; rarely gives a medium score (3)

She is very nice and motherly

To get a full credit in your exams, explain your answers and support it with legal basis. She gives points for good explanations and does not restrict the correct answer to only either a Yes or a No.

Does not gives advanced copies of her syllabus; sends parts of the outline on a weekly basis as her weekly assignment

Avoid erasures in your exam papers

She makes sure that you thoroughly study the course by being strict and acting like a terror-professor in her own loving and motherly way

Varies per exam and per term; may be application of principles on different scenario/cases; may be purely theoretical and codal (enumeration and discussion of principles)

His usual HW on day 1: Study NIL 1-13; Memorize NIL 1 which everyone will recite (verbatim)

Take note of everything that he lectures and writes on the board - his examples are usually the basis of his exam questions.

Don't interrupt the lecture or disturb the class; don’t talk to each other EVER, don’t share notes - he can get very mad when he catches you talking to your seatmate

"Wag lang sya mainis sa class niyo. Kapag may napaginitan siya, binabagsak niya"

NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS

His recitation questions are difficult; there are no wrong or right answers, but they cannot be found in the book

[Style is very similar to his style in Property, please see Ampil in Property]

Recitation is not graded, except you may get plus points if you get called and give a good impression

10 essay questions to be answered strictly in 3 sentences [However, note that he changed his style with our batch in Oblicon wherein he gave an objective-type exam]

Book/References

No required book; know your codal. [Note: Upperclassmen have recommended either Riano, Herrera, or Regalado, as well as San Beda Reviewer and Ateneo Summer Reviewer 2007)

Requires Rianno

Recits and Finals; it will be up to the class if you want to have a midterms [Note: Since we have transitioned to semestral, he may now require midterms]

1/3 Midterms

Gives plus 5 for complete attendance (including first day) which may be placed on either the final grade or the final exams

1/3 Finals, comprehensive

1/3 RecitHe asks "what if" kind of questions wherein you have to think outside the box. (Ex: if general rule yung provision, magtatanong siya ng circumstances na exceptions)

Random recit on cases; the topics follow the flow of the book

On the first few weeks of class, he usually gives a lengthy discussion on Jurisdiction

The class will be given a choice on the type of questions for the exam, which will cover 20%. His MCQs are "killers" because the choices are almost the same. His essay questions may be more manageable.

Relatively easy but can be tricky; MCQ on Riano, provisions, and cases

MCQs are based on both codal (memorize!) and case doctrines while essays are application of the provisions

Always refer to the book, even the examples

In a Yes-or-No essay question, regardless of how long your explanation is, if you answered wrong (Yes/No), you get zeroHe is very knowledgeable in CivPro; a great Prof

She is very passionate in her advocacies and knows what she teaches.

"He knows remedial law by heart and soul - he can tweak the rules; expect his heart and soul in your exams"

She's very nice and motherly. But study hard.

Note the doctrines he stresses during class discussions She has failed students.
