International Robotics is a 40 year old purpose-driven company better known as a pioneers of Social Robotics & global leaders in Communication Robotics, producing psychologically designed adult-size Robotic personalities which act as Surrogate Communications tools with the Learning Disabled, Autistic, ADHD, Handicapped, Seniors and other Special Needs individuals.

We’ve created an educational lecture called, “If You Can Dream,” which translates our knowledge of present and future technologies into a motivational vision of the astonishing solutions which civilization is about to witness. “If You Can Dream” addresses technological breakthroughs in agriculture, energy, transportation, medicine, water, Space Exploration, the functioning of the mind, the very DNA of our universe, Organic Technology, and how science & theology are making peace with each other.

“If You Can Dream” intends to motivate and empower young architects of the future by introducing them to the discovery, opportunities & solutions their planet will soon have access to. IRI has spent the last 40 years developing our own research capabilities for investigating, locating and linking with research & development teams as well as manufacturers of trendsetting technologies in every imaginable industry.

HOW THIS WORKS

Our programmable and remotely controllable Robots can deliver Motivational Presentations in Schools on the subjects of Science & Technology. Presentations like, “If you Can Dream,” are designed to inspire and empower students, placing emphasis on the creation of fresh solutions for a healthier planet. IRI’s services are donated free of charge to schools, clinics, hospitals, Rehabilitation & Senior Centers, orphanages, etc., on behalf of our clients.

• To encourage students to become architects for a better future and to foster entrepreneurship & innovation

• To provide society with a dress-rehearsal for co-existence between humans and machines, and to learn from those observations

• To help develop new protocols for programming future intelligent machines with more human-like emotions in order to ensure their long-term acceptance and successful co-habitation with humankind.

THE PSYCHOLOGY

• Humanize technology while still commanding the attention and respect of today’s more complex, more sophisticated audiences

• Circumvent the many constraints of Social Protocol, removing all forms of stress, fears, and defense-mechanisms

THE STRUCTURE

There are many components to the “If You Can Dream” presentation, which may vary depending on the age/grade or particular interest of the students. The basic structure of the program is to emphasize the importance of:

• Following one's dream • Searching for new solutions in the fields of transportation, medicine, farming,

communication, energy, etc. • Exercising prudence in selecting and developing technologies Often the

Robot operator, acting as MC, begins to engage the Students by saying:

A TYPICAL EXCHANGE WITH THE STUDENTS WOULD BEGIN AS:

"Hello, my name is------ and I am about to introduce you to robot (name of robot). I will explain everything about him, how he works, and then give you all the opportunity to meet him, ask him questions, dance with him and even take souvenir picture.

But first I want to ask all of you a question: Do you ever dream about creating ideas or inventions that are so extraordinary that they seem like impossible dreams?"

(Many students agree)

Well I am here to propose to you that nothing is impossible in our modern age, and achieving your dreams is often simply a matter of time. For example, let me tell you the story of how the robot standing next to me was first created.

Over 50 years ago, a young boy your age was sitting in school, dreaming of inventing robots like this one that could help people with Special Needs, and that could help us to learn how to communicate with robots in the future. But in those early days, computers were not available yet; and the concept of building robots seemed like something out of science-fiction. So people would tell this young boy to stop dreaming about impossible things.

But the boy chose to keep his dream alive and to believe in that dream. He kept designing, inventing and constructing his robot in his mind. Over the years, technology caught up to his dream, and this young man finally brought Robot SICO to life. The robot made friends easily and helped people with Special Needs.

You might say that this robot is like a rehearsal for how we may someday happily live with robots that will serve us in our homes, places of work, our schools, or even as we explore other planets!

So my question to you today is: what are you dreaming about right now? If you could invent anything of an extraordinary nature that could benefit your country and your planet, what would you create?"'

(Following some rich exchange of ideas with the Students, the speaker begins to explain how thr Robot is used and how he functions. The operator demonstrates the robot's controls and triggers one of the Robot's programmed presentations. Then, the MC/Operator informs the students that he will step aside and control the robot to let them enjoy his presence speaking with him, dancing and eventually taking pictures. )

There are several other components to this motivational presentation. In some cases, the students are invited to help the robot create an interstellar spaceship. At other times, the students are invited to calculate the speed at which science and technology will evolve in their lifetime. At other times, the students are engaged in a conversation about the tremendous and impressive scale of our planet, our solar system, our universe and how we will someday explore that universe.
