West Cambridge

By road the IfM is located at the West Cambridge Site adjacent to Junction 13 on the M11 motorway and the journey time from central London is approximately 75 minutes. Parking is available in the car parks on either side of the IfM building (see detailed map on page 2). Please display the Permit below in your windscreen.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD OUTSIDE IFM, AS THIS IS A BUSY BUS ROUTE.

By rail the First Capital Connect direct service from London Kings Cross to Cambridge runs regularly throughout the day with an approximate journey time of 45 minutes. By air and rail from London Stansted Airport the CrossCountry direct service runs throughout the day with an approximate journey time of 30-35 minutes. By taxi from Cambridge Rail Station the journey time is approximately 20 minutes.

Cambridge Travel Information By Car From the South & from London, Cambridge is a short trip up the M11 motorway. From the north, the A1 and M1 link to the A14 dual carriageway straight to the city, and from the east and west, the A14 again takes you to Cambridge. BBC Travel Information

By Coach A frequent coach service to Cambridge is available from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted airports. Cambridge’s coach station, served by all national coach services is situated in the city centre, just a few minutes from Drummer Street bus station. National Express Coaches

By Train There are excellent connections from Scotland & the North via Peterborough, and regional services from Birmingham & the Midlands, East Anglia & the Northwest. From London, frequent, fast rail services depart from King’s Cross and Liverpool Street stations. There are also hourly services to Cambridge from Stansted Airport National Rail Services

By Air London Stansted is the nearest international airport to Cambridge, located just 30 miles to the South of the city, with easy access by train (direct rail link to Cambridge), coach, or car (M11). EasyJet and Ryanair fly from Stansted. Cambridge is also within reach of London Luton, London Heathrow & London Gatwick Stansted Airport

Taxi Services The approximate taxi fare from Cambridge railway station to the IfM is approximately £10.00. Several taxi companies offer an airport service costing approximately £45 one way for Stansted and £100 to London Heathrow for pre-booked taxis. They should be contacted in advance to arrange collection from any London airport for transfer to Cambridge.
