You are an international or Canadian student who meets all the admission requirements for the degree you wish to study, except for the University of Calgary’s English Language Proficiency requirement.

You are a Canadian High School student who still needs to meet the correct Grade 12 English course requirement and/or the University of Calgary’s English Language Proficiency requirement.

Programs:IFP Pathways RouteProvides direct admission to the Schulich School of Engineering, Haskayne School of Business, or the Faculty of Science. In the Pathways Route, students take language and academic course support while studying their degree program.

• For students who meet all admission requirements for their degree faculty except for the requirements of English Language Proficiency.

• September start

• Minimum IELTS 6.0

IFP Bridging: Conditional Admission RouteStudents gain conditional acceptance to a UCalgary degree program and study academic English in the IFP Bridging Program before they begin their degree studies.

• For students who meet all admission requirements for their degree faculty except for the requirements of English Language Proficiency.

• Teaches high-level academic language and skills for use in university or similar contexts.

• September start

• Minimum IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 70

IFP Bridging: Pre-Admission RouteStudents study Academic English in the IFP Bridging program before or while they are applying to a UCalgary degree program. Students may also apply for conditional acceptance into a degree program while in the IFP Bridging Pre-Admission Route.

• For students who meet all admission requirements for their degree faculty except for the requirements of English Language Proficiency and/or English Language Arts equivalent course.

• Teaches high-level academic language and skills for use in university or similar contexts

• January, May or September start

• Minimum intermediate English language ability
