Silence…..
“Jesus speaks in the silence of the mystery of the Eucharist and reminds us each time that following him means going out of ourselves and making our lives not something we 'possess,' but a gift to him and to others”. – Pope Francis
As we begin Holy Week, especially Holy Thurs-day, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, this one continuous liturgy of the Church, called the Triduum, we are invited to journey with Jesus as he carries out the work of our liberation. Let us take into consideration the importance of silence during these days. Silence is a way in which we can be more available to Christ.
How are we with silence? If we are like most people, we tend to want to fill the silence with our words and other sounds. Perhaps silence just makes us a uneasy, like we are alone. But really, we are never alone. God is always with us.
The practice of silence is considered by the saints as an important part of our spiritual lives, for our attentiveness to God’s movements in our hearts. Without silence, the soul dissipates.
These most holy days of the Triduum are filled with words, but also opportunities for silence, to savor the presence of God. Let us not let our spiritual lives be adversely overshadowed by our words. An undue attachment and emphasis to words of human creation can inhibit silence.
On Holy Thursday, as the Sacrament is placed at the altar of repose, a profound silence falls on the church, not only in the church building, but hopefully in our homes as well, and in our hearts.
Silence is not pass, but where our work ends, and God’s work continues, though unseen and often unheard, his Eternal Word, Jesus Christ works for the salvation of all.
“The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace.”

“Jesús habla en el silencio del misterio de la Eucaristía y nos recuerda cada vez que seguirlo significa salir de nosotros mismos y hacer de nuestras vidas algo que no 'poseemos', sino un regalo para él y para los demás ”. - Papa Francisco
Al comenzar la Semana Santa, especialmente el Jueves Santo, el Viernes Santo y el Sábado Santo, esta Liturgia continua en la Iglesia, llamada el Triduo, estamos invitados a viajar con Jesús mientras él lleva a cabo el trabajo de nuestra liberación. Tomemos en consideración la importancia del silencio durante estos días. El silencio es una manera en que podemos estar más disponibles para Cristo.
¿Cómo estamos con el silencio? Si somos como la mayoría de las personas, tendemos a querer llenar el silencio con nuestras palabras y otros sonidos. Tal vez el silencio solo nos haga sentir incómodos, como si estuviéramos solos. Pero en realidad, nunca estamos solos. Dios está siempre con nosotros.
La práctica del silencio es considerado por los santos como una parte importante de nuestra vida espiritual, por nuestra atención a los movimientos de Dios en nuestros corazones. Sin silencio, el alma se disipa.
Estos días santos del Triduo están llenos de palabras, pero también de oportunidades para el silencio, para saborear la presencia de Dios. No permitamos que nuestras vidas espirituales se vean opacadas por nuestras palabras. Un apego y un énfasis indebido a las palabras de la creación Humana, pueden inhibir el silencio.
El Jueves Santo, cuando se coloca el Sacramento en el altar de reposo, cae un profundo silencio sobre la iglesia, no solo en el edificio de la iglesia, sino esperemos que también en nuestros hogares, y en nuestros corazones.
El silencio no es pasado, pero donde termina nuestro trabajo, y el trabajo de Dios continúa, aunque invisible
y con frecuencia no escuchado, su Palabra Eterna, Jesucristo trabaja para la la salvación de todos.

TRIDUO PASCUAL: Durante estos 3
días, nos sumergiremos en el misterio de la muerte, sepultura y resurrección del Señor. En ese misterio somos creados de nuevo, recibimos el descanso y la renovacion del bautismo, confirmación y eucaristía, y el misterio de nuestra Pascua en Cristo.
CONFESIONES: 5:45 PM Lunes, 15 de abril y Martes, 16 de abril. (habrá 2 sacerdotes disponibles)
MISA CRISMAL: 11:00 AM, Martes, 16 de abril. (Catedral de San José, 134 Farmington Avenue, Hartford).
JUEVES SANTO: 7 PM, Jueves, 18 de abril. La Misa de la Ultima Cena del Señor y adoración en silencio hasta a las 10pm.
VIERNES SANTO: Viernes, 19 de abril. 2pm— Procesión del Vía Crucis por las calles del vecindario 4pm— El Servicio de la Pasión del Señor (la adoración de la Cruz y la Comunión) 7pm— El drama del Vía Crucis (en vivo) - presentado por la pastoral juvenil de la parroquia.
SÁBADO DE GLORIA: 8 PM Sábado, 20 de abril. Alégrense por fin los coros de los ángeles,y Alégrense las jerarquías del cielo, por la victoria de rey tan Poderoso.
DOMINGO DE RESURRECCION: Domingo, 21 de Abril. Misas: 8:30 AM (Bilingüe) 10:30 AM (Inglés) 12:30 PM (Español)

HOLY THURSDAY: 7PM, Thursday, April 18. The Mass of the Last Supper of the Lord and silent adoration until 10pm.
GOOD FRIDAY: Friday, April 19. (fasting and no meat) 2pm— Way of the Cross Procession through the streets of the neighborhood. 4pm—Service of the Lord’s Passion (adoration of the cross and Holy Communion) 7pm—Living Stations of the Cross - presented by the youth ministry of the parish.
HOLY SATURDAY: 8PM, Saturday, April 20. Exult, let them exult, the hosts of heaven, exult, let Angel ministers of God exult, let the trumpet of salvation sound aloud our mighty King's triumph!.
EASTER SUNDAY: Sunday, April 21. Masses: 8:30 AM (Bilingual) 10:30 AM (English) 12:30 PM (Spanish)
PASCHAL TRIDUUM: During these 3 days, we enter
into the mystery of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord. In this mystery, we are created anew; we receive rest and refreshment, and we are raised with Christ into eternal light. This “paschal mystery” is the mystery of “christianing”- baptism, confirmation, eucharist- the mystery of our Passover in Christ.

community he knew well. We prayerfully enter our own
communities too, encountering those who are hungry
and thirsty, and those who need our help. How does our
Lenten journey motivate us to serve those we meet in
our daily lives?

tan nuestra ayuda. ¿De qué manera nuestra jornada de
Cuaresma nos motiva a servir a aquellos con quienes nos
encontramos en nuestra vida diaria?
