The SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE, held every April, remains the world’s most important

design fair. It leads the way in furniture design, both from Italy and abroad, showcasing the

innovations that will soon be shaping interiors across the globe. With an increasing presence, which is

second only after Italy, Spain has been completing and enriching the Salone’s offer since 1996 with

its diverse array of furnishing products, design items and styles.

This year, the group of Spanish companies, which makes a contingent of 67 firms -the second

largest after the host country-, will cover a surface of more than 7,400 sqm in the three style

sectors –Classic, Luxury Interiors, Design-, and in the Eurocucina and the Salone Internazionale

del Bagno, which run alongside.

Rich in style and products, the offer will be more attractive than ever, including the most sophisticated

haute décor and appealing traditional furniture, inspiring and stylish proposals for indoors and

outdoors, innovative design items –fruit of the collaboration with internationally renowned designers-,

lounge and contract products, new cutting-edge furniture for contemporary workspaces and public

spaces. All products reflect the passionate and emotional approach of the Spanish furnishing and

design industry that aims at meeting different tastes, needs, trends and even, why not, cultures.

Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, TAURO, one of ANDREU WORLD’s most iconic seats, is now available ina fully wood version. This reinterpretation has a direct correlation with the history and tradition of the firm,which has always been a specialist in woodworking. The new TAURO WOOD enhances the visual appeal of theformer Tauro chair, improving its reputation, prestige and applicability. In its two versions, armchair andlounge chair, TAURO WOOD proves the right solution for all types of public and residential spaces.

The already extensive NUB collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola, has been complemented with three newversions that make NUB an even more versatile collection, beyond the typical offering. With MATRIOSKA, the new modular programme

created by Jordi Ribaudí for ARLEX, creativity and

versatility is taken to the extreme! Trapezoidal-

shaped modules can be configured in different

ways to create bookshelves, sideboards and

occasional furniture. Pieces come in wood or

lacquer, but you can also play with different sizes

and colours to add dynamism and a playful note

to your space. Fronts can be added to turn

shelves into practical storage units.

Strongly committed to design and innovation, the Spanish ARLEX has made a

name for itself for using a cosmopolitan, technological language that can be

understood in very different cultural contexts, which blends in like chameleons

do. Every year they enrich their ranges with new design items that are the result

of a fruitful collaboration with top-notch names of Spain’s design. As a new

launch, they will unveil in Milan TURIA, a new collection of streamlined

sideboards and wall units for pared-back interiors. Totally in tune with current

trends, TURIA features a mix of natural timbers, sleek lines and beautifully simple

Probably the only 100% waterproof

modular sofa on the market, the

DORM modular sofa, created by

SerraydelaRocha for CALMA, has

been updated improving aesthetics

and functionality. DORM is now

available with the armrests and

backrest upholstered in a rhomboid-

shaped capitonné. Impermeability has

been improved as well: a PVC layer

has been added to the inside of the

acrylic Sunbrella fabrics while seams

are thermally sealed for extra

resistance to water.

Carulla, SENYORA is an innovative

seating system, that gives a new,

intriguing twist to the traditional beach

recliner. It consists of a fabric with flat

inserts in its interior that shapes the

seat and the back of the chair. This set

is easily adjustable to different frames

without any fastening mechanism. It’s

that simple: with just a few

movements, you stretch the fabric over

the structure and you soon can

configure three different chair

OM is a collection of sun shades that can easily

adapt to every outdoor space and need. Thanks to its

versatile design and its technical features, OM is

available in three different models: the central pole

umbrella; the wall umbrella; the folding

wind/ambience, fixed to the floor. The new central

pole model integrates a circular-shaped table. To

maximize functionality, the table is adjustable in

different heights.


Founded in 2008 and based in Valencia, CAMUS

COLLECTION designs, produces and sells

exclusive design pieces – or “functional

sculptures”, as they are considered by experts –

for exquisite interiors all over the world. The

high-end CAMUS COLLECTION is composed by

20 hand-crafted pieces in solid American walnut

wood and other noble materials and precious

finishes, such as alabaster stones, polished

aluminum, enea (bulrush) fibres and gold and

silver leaf. All the objects can be considered

authentic pieces of art that rise above trends and

add a timeless appeal to classy ambiences.

This year the collection has been enriched

with new amazing pieces that will provide

interiors with a distinctive statement. Take for

example the stunning HONG KONG –

BALZAC bedroom: it is composed by a

mural–headboard of great proportions, 8 cm

thick, whose panels are made of incredible

biselled edges and mitre joints. Inclined

planes produce a strange geometric vertigo,

an asymmetric, jumble effect that catches the

eye, leaving no one indifferent.

The bed is complemented by the BALZAC

bedside tables, whose intriguing design is

formed by three piles of cylindrical elements,

almost suggesting a rotatory movement.

Fun and original, the CLOUD stool, a

creation by Japanese Kazuko Okamoto,

plays wittily with geometric and organic

shapes. The wooden upholstered seat

features an intriguing combination of

convex and concave lines that recall the

shape of a cloud. The structure, made of

steel, is all a balance of geometrical

forms: the supporting element is a ring to

which legs are attached. The playful note

is given by the wide colour finish palette:

you can have seats and legs coloured in

different ways. Personalization at its best!

Inspired by Scandi design and beautifully

crafted, BELK armchair, a creation by the

Polish Spuznar Studio, is totally made of

beech wood and is available in three

versions: with wooden or upholstered

backrest and the lounge option for extra

Wood, marble-like ceramic and metal mix smartly

in the fixed SILKE table, which is the best option to

Design plays a leading role in KIRE, whose sleek

A synchronized extension mechanism makes it

A design by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, the BLAU

tree is the new addition to the homonymous

outdoor furniture collection. As a tribute to Mother

Nature and the pleasant Mediterranean

environment, BLAU is more than simply a light: it

transcends its geometric design with aluminium

branches that project lines of indirect lighting,

creating an exceptional ambience for living magical

moments all around the year.

With an extruded aluminium profile, this stunning

sculptural outdoor accessory comes equipped with

a LED light source and is available in white, sand,

bronze and anthracite.

DNA, the new refined, compelling outdoor furniture collection designed by José A. Gandia-Blasco for

the 2016 Catalogue, draws inspirations both from the subtle interplay of light and shades created by the

typical Mediterranean shutters and from the aesthetics of the shadow as understood in traditional and

contemporary Japanese architecture: the positive and the negative free from any superfluous ornament.

The result is this amazing line of furniture that reinterprets the essence of these horizontals geometries

used to reconfigure the KETTAL

MESH collection that has also been

Born from the need to provide

outdoor environments with

smart high performance

furniture, the BOMA collection,

designed by Rodolfo Dordoni,

comes with a new textile

upholstery that is every bit as

Great attention to detail and refinement in the

design of every element are the outstanding

features of MOSS and IOS, the two successful

contemporary modular systems for living spaces.

This two collections, which are different in

With strong Mediterranean roots, POINT has

extended its beautiful catalogue of outdoor

furniture with new designer models enriched

by new textures, colours and materials, such as

the natural teak (A-grade), the Shintotex fibres

in new colours and the weather–resistant

fabrics (Sunbrella, Batyline, Serge Ferrari,

Texyloop…). Among them, the new collection

of the Spanish Francesc Rifé: ROUND,

HAMP, PUL and the BUT chairs in both a

director’s folding chair, the

new BOSS chair, a creation of

the Catalan designer Joan

Gaspar for RESOL, transmits

of plastic injected in

polypropylene with fiberglass

Textilene Batyline Iso fabric

unveil in Milan the TOLEDO AIRE

chair, which is a new version of

the TOLEDO chair, a creation of

Argentinian designer Jorge Pensi

Design Center Stuttgard Award;

1988 “Delta Plate” award of ADI

FAD; and Sidi Selection, first

place, in 1988. Jorge Pensi’s

designs are outstanding for its

expressive and minimalist

character, always evoking

sensations but with minimal

with polypropylene and

TORTUGA chair. Nadadora Studio NEW!

TORTUGA is just the opener of the

forthcoming FUTURA, a collection of five

totally new designs, plus two updates that

will compete to be future icons. All of them

created by young talented designers, such

as Nadadora, Sebastian Herkner, NOTE,

Rafa García, MUT and Elena Castaño-López.

Inspired by the slow, steady pace of

tortoises, the new TORTUGA armchair,

designed by Nadadora Studio, evokes the

cozy, protective feel of a tortoise shell. It

emphasizes a slower approach to aspects of

everyday life – the so called “slow living” –

and recreates a relaxing refuge where you

can withdraw into, just as tortoises do in

case of danger. A true slow-lounge-chair

where you can immerse in a good novel or

take a nap.

While the choice of textiles can add

contrasting exuberance, TORTUGA is warm,

cosy, comfortable, soft and for extra

function, it can even rotate! It is available

SISTEMA is different from any other sofa on the market. As a matter of fact, it has been conceived

as an innovative complete system, composed of different independent elements. This way, for the

first time, customers can configure a sofa totally adapted to their needs and tastes. They have at

disposal different elements to choose from: armrests, backrests, seats, accessories, flat surfaces etc.

The range of elements will be extended year by year with new components that will define the entire

SISTEMA, the first living system for home and contract use.

Once they’ve got the system patented, the following step was to decide what designer might have

the adequate sensitivity and elegance to create the independent elements that joined together could

AMBOAN by Pedro Peña is a brand new line of unique occasional furniture created by the renowned Spanish

interior designer for the brand. Each piece is a state-of-the-art object that impresses for the spectacular

combination of oak wood, high-gloss lacquers, chrome detailing and modern silk-screen printing technique.

Among the outstanding pieces there is the beautiful TWENTY sideboard lacquered in contrasting colours

with front embellished by stylized Arabesque motifs. The collection includes also the stunning QATAR dining

table with a boat top lacquered in black and with two semicircular bases made of pierced stainless steel; the

Final figures for 2015 indicate that Spain’s exports of furniture have increased by +9.8%,

amounting to 1,857 million euros at the end of the year.

Rich in styles and ranges and with a unique emotional approach, Furniture from Spain has

consolidated its presence in biggest EU countries: France, Portugal, Germany and the United

Kingdom, which rank 1st to 4th among Spain’s major markets and concentrate 49.7% of total

exports.

With the exception of Portugal, exports have increased significantly in most of the top ten

importers. Among Spanish furniture's traditional markets, the outstanding results of France

(+8.1%), Germany (+21.9%) and Italy (+26.5%) suggest that the domestic consumptions have

considerably recovered in all these countries. Amounting now to 69 million euros, exports of

Spanish products to Italy, the host country of the Salone, have registered encouraging increases

for two years in a row, after years of negative results.

Significant increases have also been registered in exports to America: USA earned the 5th

position in the ranking, with imports of Spanish furniture growing by +54.8% to 82.9 million

euros, while the Mexican market ranks now 10th, registering an important +6.3% increase and

totalling 50.2 million euros.

In North Africa and the Gulf Region, good results have been reported in Saudi Arabia (+37.1%)

and Morocco (+18.8%), which trust Spanish furniture companies for their high-end residential,

commercial and hospitality projects.
