Among the biggest religious and cultural feasts in the Philippines in honor of the Holy

Child Jesus or Sto. Niño. Celebrated annually on the 4th Sunday of January,

Dingayan is recognized as a world-class festival.

Ati Tribe Competition, Kasadyahan Cultural Competition and the Miss Iloilo Dinagyangare some of the competitions being held

during the festival.

The festival showcases impressive choreography with colorful tribal costumes

and striking props to depict life in Panay before the Spanish colonization and the

advent of Catholicism in the country.

• The Iloilo-Guimaras-Negros Island Bridge is among the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) pipeline of projects eyed for Chinese funding.

• As of SEPT 2019, the project is under feasibility study and is expected to cost PHP 27.15 Billion.

• The first phase of the project would link Iloilo to Guimaras. While phase two (2) would connect the latter to Negros Island.

• The Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge network is expected to provide increase inter-connectivity in the provinces of Western and Central Visayas, as well as to boost the economy in said regions.
