Immaculate Heart of Mary Church

Welcome to

December 22, 2019 * Fourth Sunday of Advent /Christmas

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord

and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May the souls of all the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

those in hospitals, nursing homes, the

homebound, the families of the sick,

caregivers, and the members of the

military and their families.

From Father John,

Dear Immaculate Heart of Mary Parishioners & Guests,

On behalf of our parish I would like to offer a very

warm welcome to all our guests this weekend and

those who will be joining us at Christmas. You bless

us with your presence and you are welcome here!

Very soon we will celebrate the great Solemnity of

Christmas. We celebrate and receive the great gift

that God has given to us in His Son, come to us as a

little baby. This Christmas I would like to invite us all

to take some time (just 15 minutes) in prayer to

allow ourselves to be present at the nativity scene

with Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. When you are there,

soak up the scenery, what Mary, Joseph, and Jesus

look like and what they are doing. You may ask who

else you want to be there with you as you approach

the manger. They could be family members or

perhaps people with whom you struggle. Most

importantly, allow yourself really to be there. Pay

attention as Mary and Joseph invite you closer..

perhaps even ask you to pick up the Child. Allow the

scene to unfold. What happens as you look into the

child’s eyes. What are in the hearts of Mary and

Joseph for you? What about the others who are

present? What do you want to say? Pour out your

heart there. Allow the grace of the Christ Child to go

a little deeper this Christmas. May we all find a new

Bethlehem in our hearts, our lives, our families, and

our parish.

Merry Christmas!

Peace and every good,

Fr. John Bauer

Year - End Giving Opportunities

This is the time of year when people consider giving

charitable contributions to their favorite charities.

We hope that you consider IHM Catholic Church as one

of your favorites. Here are a few ideas to help maximize

the benefits of your giving for you and our parish:

IRA Distributions: Please consult your tax advisor to

make a direct transfer from your IRA to IHM. This option

may be particularly beneficial if you don’t itemize

deductions on your tax return.

Stock Contributions: If you have appreciated stock this

year, you may realize a tax break by donating to IHM.

Consult your tax advisor to address your situation.

Christmas Envelopes: There is a Christmas envelope in

your December packet. We hope that you will maintain

your regular weekly support along with making a special

Christmas contribution. Please give generously.

Our budget is based on using both envelopes.

Employer Matching Funds: You may wish to consult with

your employer to determine if a matching gift from your

company can double the value of your contribution to

our parish.

Church Endowment Funds: We have a special

endowment account separate from our regular operating

fund. If you wish to make a contribution in the 2019 tax

year, we welcome your generosity and support. Call

Kellie Dennehy at 952-935-1432 for more information.

Donations you wish to include for the 2019 Tax Year

need to be submitted by Tuesday, December 31
