Article 249:
Directorate of Fisheries Resource Management has the task of
carrying out the formulation and implementation of policy,
preparation of norms, standards, procedures, and criteria,
providing technical guidance and supervision, as well as
evaluation and reporting in the field of sustainable fisheries
resource management in inland waters, the archipelagic
waters, territorial and archipelagic waters, Indonesian
Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEEI) and the high seas, as well as
monitoring and analyzing of fisheries resource

1. Objective:
• Preparation of accurate data andinformation as basis for policyformulation including forallocation of fisheries resources
• Collecting and Reporting data toRFMO (Compliance)
Monitoring and Analyzing of Fisheries Resources
1. Legal Basis: Ministerial Decree No. 48/2014 on Fishing Logbook.
2. Mandatory to :
a. Fishing vessel greater than 5 GT;
b. Fishing vessel operating in high seas.
3. Type of Fishing Logbook
a. Logbook for longline and handline;
b. Logbook for purse-seine, pole and line, trolling;
c. Logbook for other gear types.
4. As a landing declaration.
5. Has to be submitted to the port authority prior to unloading the catch.
6. Verification by the port authority.
7. Logbook data will be uploaded into logbook system.

Purse Seine Fishing Activity in WPP 573 During 2016
PURSE SEINE (WPP-573)
Production of monthly catches from big pelagic purse seine operating in WPP 573 Catch Production are dominated by large fleets. The largest production is occupied by a fleet of> 100 GT

The placement of the observer on board waseffective in April through September. In March,the observer only placed on vessels whichoperating in WPP-NRI 572 and 573. In April, thehighest catch was at WPP-NR 717 of 11,000kg perone setting (setting), May and June in WPP- NRI715 and July, August and December on the highseas (South Java and West Sumatra).

The highest CPUE occurred in September of 5298 kg by one trip of catching activity, the lowest in June of 1749 kg per one trip fishing activity. On the weight scale (kg), skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis) is the dominant catch of 63.37% of the total catches

Purse Seine vessel operating in WPP 573 placed Observer is from Nizam Zachman Ocean Fishing Port of Jakarta and Benoa Harbor. The size range of the vessel is 70 to 171 GT with a net length of 200 to 1200 meters and a width of 40 to 400 meters.

CPUE (kg/setting)
The catch per unit effort (CPUE) of Purse Seine in WPP-NRI 573 averages 2826 kg persetting, the peak is in September 5299 kg per-setting and the lowest is July 1804 kg persetting. From the twelve of purse seines operating in WPP-NR 573, the highest CPUE is4551 kg per 1204 lowest setting. The size vesel is not correlated with the size of the catch

Purse seine which operating in WPP-NRI 717 come from Bitung Port and is a purse seine group (when the operation is accompanied by lights and boats).

The highest CPUE occurred in April of 11000 kg by one trip of the catching activity and the lowest in June of 3800 kg by one trip of the catching activity. On the weight scale (kg) of the highest catch fish was skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis) of 57.86% of the total catch

GT Kapal CPUE (kg/setting)
Based on six purse seines operating in WPP-NRI 717, the highest catches per unit effort(CPUE) was obtained on purse seine vessel no. 4 of 20.250 ton per-setting and the loweston purse seine vessel no.2 of 1977 kg per setting. The productivity of the vessel did notshow a positive correlation between the size of the vessel and the catch as this wasdemonstrated by the 98 GT purse seine vessel obtaining a larger catch than the seawaterseine 138 GT
