INFRASTRUCTURETechnology Most Reading Plus® instruction takes place at a workstation. Workstations must be

confi gured properly for optimal performance, so test them before full deployment. Ideally, student workstations should be positioned to prevent visual distractions. Your technical coordinator can review technical specifi cations at: www.readingplus.com/support.

Location A Reading Plus® lab setting should be quiet and free of distractions. A classroom setting should have enough workstations to support your implementation plan. Consider where and when to conduct small-group or whole-group instruction with Reading Plus® offl ine comprehension skill activities. Provide teachers with space for motivational charts and posters, and for student folders that contain record sheets and offl ine-skill assignments.

PERSONNELAdministrative Before you begin using Reading Plus®, assign a lead teacher or administrator to

oversee implementation, assist with questions from teachers and coaches, and report progress and fi delity of implementation status to administrators.

Coaches & Teachers Reading Plus® can be run successfully by coaches or teachers who are not reading specialists. These facilitators monitor lab settings, provide periodic follow-upwith students, off er positive reinforcement, and assist with diffi culties. Professional development, workstation-based training, and reference tools prepare personnel for successful implementation.

LOGISTICSStudent Data Import your student data into the Reading Plus® database and enroll students into

classes that you create.

ProfessionalDevelopment

Arrange for an introduction of Reading Plus® to your staff , professional develop-ment for key players, and creation of a timeline for program rollout.
