Eligible landholders who take part in this project will work closely with Riverina Local Land Services to achieve environmental outcomes. There are also incentives available to assist land managers to carry out this work on their property. What assistance is available? Through this project assistance is available to landholders for a suite of on-ground works including: fencing to enhance and manage native vegetation planting native vegetation planting trees for wildlife corridors fencing and planting native vegetation to protect wetlands, rivers, creeks and gullies protection and creation of habitat for threatened species pest and weed control Works may include the provision of: Stock proof fencing materials (electric, plain or hingejoint) Site preparation (deep ripping and weed control) Planting of locally native species Alternate stock water (dam or reticulated) where stock access to water will be lost This project focuses on a range of restoration activities that protect and restore threatened species and ecological communities across the Riverina. Good quality remnant native vegetation exists across the Riverina, often on private land. These areas are home to Inland Grey Box Grassy Woodlands, White Box-Yellow Box, Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodlands, Weeping Myall Woodland, Buloke Woodland and associated grasslands. What are the next steps?Funding is limited and project proposals need to be received by the 16 November 2018. Landholders must submit an Expression Of Interest via https://riverina.lls.nsw.gov.au/our-region/grants-and-funding2 Once an EOI has been submitted, a Riverina Local Land Services officer will contact you to discuss your project and the project proposal form.
