    1/1

If you are faced with opposition and want to

make the right choice, you have to determine

that you are going to stand rm on your faith

and what you believe in, come what may. As

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said to

the king when asked to bow down to his image

and were threatened with being burned alive if

they did: But if not. (Daniel 3:18).

Facing opposition and yet staying true to

ones beliefs and convictions is difcult

to do. It involves making a choice, and

sometimes a number of choices as to

whether you will be true to God and what

you know to be right, or acquiesce to the

    wishes and ways of others.

Daniel and his three friends, Shadrach,

    Meshach, and Abednego, faced those

choices repeatedly as employees in the kings court. Yet

they chose to stand by what they knew was true by the

standard that God had given them in His Word, regardless

    of the consequences.

It wasnt easy to go contrary to the customs of their time.

But because they determined that they were going to follow

God, regardless of what opposition they faced, this made

each decision easier and the path of Gods will clearer.

In other words, even ifI receive the ridicule scorn, and

humiliation of others, I am still going to be true to the

one who is my closest and dearest friend. I will trust

Him for the future, knowing that He does all things well.

Staying true to your faith isnt always easy,

    but its worth it.

Take good careof these boys. Our Kingbelieves that the youngones will adapt to ourcustoms more easily.

    Hmm.I wouldnt be

    so sure.

No matter whatI serve them from ourBabylonian delicacies,

    they refuse to eat!

    Hmm. MaybeI should change my

diet too. These boys aresmarter and healthier

    than our own.

    Belteshazar,I cannot thank

you enough for yourinfluence on my

    kingdom!

    Takethe pork

    away!

    And bringin some pulse

    and water.
