At Nex-Tech, we recently revised our mission statement and introduced the Nex-Tech Way to our employees and customers. The Nex-Tech Way is: Enjoying the small-town environment we live in ourselves, our passion is to make life better for our friends and neighbors, our customers, by giving them access to high-speed, high-tech services that some only dream about. And support them like no other.

I see the Nex-Tech Way in all that we accomplished in 2018. Striving to deliver services that make the lives of our customers better, we introduced Nex-Tech Smart Home and Premium Wi-Fi to enhance our customers' Internet experience. We also introduced a completely new way to watch TV with Nex-Tech TV Now. With the launch of TV Now, we were able to introduce an advanced service and cost savings to our customers. We are also proud that we were among the first providers in the nation to deliver these services.

In 2018, we also introduced Nex-Tech Loyalty Rewards as a way to reward and show our appreciation to our loyal customers. Throughout the past year, we have enjoyed seeing our customers redeem these points for things like service upgrades and new phone accessories or chargers.

As we transition into the holiday season, it is a time to reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives. I am thankful to be a part of the Nex-Tech team, and we are thankful that you have put your trust in us for products and services. May your families enjoy the spirit of the holiday season as we close out a wonderful 2018 and look forward to 2019.

Parent's Corner

Do you know how much time your kids spend on their mobile devices and what they're doing when they're using them? There's no need to guess. There are products, apps and services that enable you to monitor and manage their screen time.

It all starts with creating an account for your child. If he or she is under 13, you can create a child account, which gives you control over your child's device from your own device.

For iOS devices, this gives you the ability to require your child to ask permission before downloading apps and making in-app purchases (all other parental controls are set up on your child's iOS device).

For Android devices, when you set up your child's account through the Family Link app (free for iOS and Android), you have access to all parental controls from your own device.

At age 13, Apple or Google gives them the option to manage their own account. If your child chooses to manage his or her own account, parental controls will be limited to those that you set on your child's device.

Most of the parental controls for iOS devices reside on the device. So even when your child takes over managing their own account, most of the parental controls remain in place. Find on-device parental controls at Settings > General > Restrictions. You'll be prompted to create a parental PIN code and all future changes require inputting the parental PIN code.

Android users can use the FamilyLink app. Content settings are set in the Google Play app > Settings > Parental Controls.

Make Your Own Edible Agate SlicesThese beautiful treats are simple to make. First, buy several colors of hard candy, such as Jolly Ranchers (rock candy doesn't work). Crush with a mallet and keep each color in a separate dish.

Form foil into molds shaped like ovals or circles with flat bottoms and raised edges. Arrange on a cookie sheet. Spray with non-stick cooking spray, then arrange the candy crumbs in concentric circles. Use a small paintbrush to push each layer to the edge and out of the middle.

Put in a 350 degree oven for about 5 minutes until the candies have melted together. Remove foil and use edible gold or silver powders to paint along the edges. Impress all your friends!

Why We Love TV Now (and you will too)In September, Nex-Tech introduced a new way to watch TV service and we have to admit, we might be in love. It’s a completely new way to watch TV. We can't choose just one reason to love it, so we'll share them all.

First of all, it's so easy to watch. All you need is a streaming device and a Nex-Tech Fiber Internet connection. No cable boxes or installation technicians are required.

The free features are also amazing. TV Now includes free DVR and HD. It also has free Replay TV and Restart TV. These cool features let you go back in the guide, up to one week in the past, to watch a show that already aired, or start something over that’s already begun. Never miss the beginning of a show or movie again! TV Now also includes three streams so you can watch three different programs on three different devices. With the free features TV Now includes and the free streams, many customers are saving nearly $20 each month.

TV Now also offers exceptional viewing flexibility. Anywhere you have Nex-Tech Wi-Fi and power, you can watch TV. Your deck, yard, or even garage can be your new favorite TV watching spot. You can even access the Nex-Tech TV Now app on your smartphone to watch live TV or view/schedule DVR recordings.

It's also really easy to sign up for or switch to TV Now. Nex-Tech Internet customers can

add TV Now instantly with the all new my.nex-tech.com. You can also call or visit your local Nex-Tech store to sign up.

To learn more about this awesome new way to watch TV, visit www.nex-tech.com/TVNow or stop by one of your local stores.
