Some technical teams rely on Cloud Computing for 100% of their IT business while others have yet to embrace the Cloud. Cloud Computing for Project Managers will provide a brief introduction to the different cloud computing categories from a project managers view point. This talk will cover some of the pitfalls project managers should be prepared to address when planning to move to or leverage the cloud. About the Speaker Tom Cook is a technical strategy leader and agile product manager currently leading Cloud Computing for the CIO office at IBM where legacy data carefully meets the cloud. Prior to leading Cloud Computing in the CIO office, Tom led a set of teams to deploy DevOps and Design tools to over 65,000 IBM users by collaborating with startups Slack.com, GitHub.com, and Mural.ly; from closing contract deals to cybersecurity assessments of cloud based tools. Tom has a history of breaking with tradition by leading self-directed teams to leverage cutting edge technology. President Barack Obama has signed into law S.1550, the Program Management Improvement and Accountability Act of 2015 (PMIAA), which will enhance accountability and best practices in project and program management throughout the federal government.
