MID-WEEK ADVENT
WORSHIP BEGINS
Don’t miss out on our Wednesday Advent services this December. On the first 3 Wednesdays at 7pm we’ll
use the beautiful Holden Evening Prayer service. These 30-minute services will follow the preaching theme: “In the Manger,” a book by Max Lucado. Hope to see you all there!
PREPARE YOUR HEARTS FOR CHRISTMAS BY ENJOYING GOD’S WORD!
Pastor Paul leads 3 Bible studies each week that you can come to. On Tuesday mornings at 6:30am or 9:30am, we’ll explore the upcoming Advent and Christmas readings that we’ll use in worship. On Sunday mornings, 9:15am – 10:15am, our topic will be Ray Vander Laan’s “The Clash of Cultures.” This very informative, inspirational and on-location video series will bring us to ancient Greece where Christianity confronted and clashed with the secular culture of the Roman world. Could this dynamic still be in our society today? Come and learn about the Apostle Paul’s missionary journeys.

NOVEMBER ATTENDANCE
From Pastor Paul… “Seeing Beauty This Season.”
I remember when my son, Jake, was little and he asked me the question: “Dad, what do all these colorful win-dows mean?” He was referring to the stained glass windows of the country church I was serving. His eyes would grow wide as he took in all the beautiful colors and lights… not to mention the event in the Bi-ble that the windows symbolized.
These were the same stained glass windows the rest of us adults probably walked by without even really see-ing them. But to his small eyes, this colored glass was a miracle and a great joy to behold.
Babies are born with their eyes wide open. As they grow they are ready to see, taste and hear all that the world has to offer. As adults, though, we tend to grow accustomed to many of the miracles we see and hear every day.
Jesus, himself, told us that we must become like chil-dren if we want to see heaven. In this Advent and Christmas Season, let’s open our eyes to the wonders that surround us. His Advent (coming) can be seen all over if we but pause long enough to notice. Let’s see everyday beauty and joy for the miracles that they are. Let’s stop one moment at a time to give thanks!
Other Pastoral thoughts:
Worship times for Winter and Spring will not be changed. We will stay with 2 services: 8am and 10:30am. After reading surveys and talk-ing with folks it’s apparent to me that members prefer not to go to one service, and that attend-ance might be affected negatively.
Our worship themes this Advent season will con-
tinue to focus on “Hymns of Hope… The Backstories.” Coming up this December: “Blessed Assurance,” “Swing Low Sweet Chariot,” “Jesus Loves Me,” “Silent Night,” and “I Heard the Bless on Christmas Day.”
We will have 3 midweek Advent Services on the
first 3 Wednesdays of the month at 7pm. These 30 minute services will focus on inspira-tional portions of Max Lucado’s book: “In The Manger.” We’ll also use the beautiful Holden Evening Prayer.
Sunday Morning Adult Education Hour has piqued the interest of several members. We’ll continue the video series and discus-sion of “The Clash of Cultures,” an on-location look on the journeys of the Apostle Paul in Greece.
A highlight for me is putting together
“Christmas in the Barn.” Thanks to the Scanlans for again offering their Red Learn-ing Barn as a great location for this special service on Sunday, Dec. 15th at 7pm. Chil-dren will act out the Nativity story
I look forward to seeing you in worship in this blessed season! PASTOR PAUL

Baptized into God’s Holy Family on November 17th was Kallie Marie Anderson, the daughter of Tyler & Rachel Anderson.
Want to be a Part of our Christmas Services?? Pastor Paul is looking for volunteers, young and old, to help with our Christmas Eve (4:30pm and 10pm) and Christmas Day (10am) worship services. Let him know if you’d be willing to share your gifts through reading the lessons, greeting, and providing special music. Pastor Paul is also looking for elementary kids who would like to help act in our “Christmas in the Barn” service on Sunday, Dec. 15th at 7pm. A brief rehearsal will be held after 10:30 church on Sunday, Dec. 8th.
