The circuit in Puglia is considered

one of the most important at the

worldwide level, in terms of

infrastructure and in terms of

competitions usually hosted

by the facility. The location of

the WSK Promotion itself, the

circuit in Southern Italy is one

of the absolutely necessary stops of the series.

Here, the WSK Master Series 2011 started at the

end of February 2011.

Extremely long, at the limit of the 1,700

metres set forth by the regulations, the

Spanish kart circuit is second to none, in

terms of quality of the structure and services

offered. The track, in the region of Aragon,

rises in a desert area, but it is located at

only few km from the city of Zaragoza, one

of the most beautiful cities in Spain.

LIVE: one thing distinguishes the great sports appointments, in addition to the show offered by the athletes, the awards and the honour of victory: live broadcasting. Indeed, it is often the parameter to discover how important an event is, and how much it is followed in any part of the world. From this year, in a more systematic way compared to the past, even the WSK enters the competitions broadcasted live, in addition to a series of in-depth analyses to review and analyse what happened on the track.

DIRETTA: una cosa, oltre allo spettacolo offerto dagli atleti, i premi e l’onore della vittoria, contraddistingue i grandi appuntamenti sportivi: la diretta televisiva. Si sa, infatti, che spesso è questo il paramento per rendersi conto di quanto un evento sia tenuto in considerazione e seguito in ogni parte del mondo. Da quest’anno, in maniera più sistematica rispetto a quanto comunque già fatto in passato, anche la WSK entra nel novero delle competizioni a cui è dedicata una diretta, oltre a una serie di approfondimenti per analizzare e rivedere quanto accaduto in pista.

RAI SPORT: fi rst of all, the television cameras of Rai Sport were spotted on the circuit with the beginning of the Master Series, which dedicated 90 minutes live to the WSK race. Live broadcasting with spectacular images, punctual replays and the right pathos, also transmitted with the comment of Massimo Facchini, an experienced journalist of Rai Sport, and Yanek Sterzel, director of TKart. For the Euro Series of Sarno, an hour of live broadcasting is scheduled from 3 :00 p.m. to 4 :00 p.m. on Sunday.

Two series and three single races

make up the 2011 WSK season. The

Master Series already began last

February in Muro Leccese and the

championship (record of registrations)

is by now, one the most longed-for, for

karting beginners and professionals.

In this Euro Series, instead, the entire

elite of international karting will

take part in four European races. In

conclusion, the three single races

will be the Champions Cup, the Final

Cup and the Nations Cup, with the fi rst

that will take place in Canada in an

extraordinary contest that will attract

interest from all over the world.

The WSK has always been

working hard on the race

program to offer the best

show, without being afraid to

try new things. With the Euro

Series, the main category of

the mono-gear karting race,

KF1, again fi nds the Superpole.

Indeed, after the trial round,

the 10 best drivers will have

an additional 10 minutes to

register the quickest lap.

The prize, 3 points for the

quickest, and to follow,

2 points and 1 point for the

second and third best time.

But the novelty this year is the

double fi nal for KF1 and KZ1/2.

The fi nal 1 (20 km) will be

competed on Saturday, with

the starting grid determined by

the results of the elimination

rounds. The prizes, signifi cant

points: 35 for the winner, 20

and 10 for who follows until

the twelfth position. The fi nal

2 (of 25 km) will take place

on Sunday, as per tradition.

The prizes, 50 points for the

winner, 30 for the second

and 20 for the third place,

until one point for the fi fteenth

place. The starting grid of

Final 2 will be determined by

the elimination rounds taking

place the same day.

DRIVER OF THE YEAR

As known, the time is the factor that must always be kept under control in a race. To do this, in the WSK races, there is not only an Internet connection in the paddock and the always updated monitors in the WSK Station, but for whoever is equipped with cellular phone, tablet, PC and similar, the organization provides a hotspot for connection via Wi-Fi where follow the timing in the track. And time cannot escape control.

Il tempo, si sa, è il fattore che,in gara, bisogna sempre tenere sotto controllo. Per farlo, nelle gare WSK, non solo c’è la connessione Internet nel paddock e i monitor sempre aggiornati all’interno della WSK Station, ma, per chiunque sia munito di cellulare, tablet, PC e affi ni, l’organizzazione mette a disposizione un hotspot a cui potersi connettere via Wi-Fi. E il tempo non può sfuggire al controllo.

Also for '11, the drivers will not be the only ones on the track. The WSK Euro Cup in fact, is the classifi cation reserved for teams, in which the score is obtained by adding the results of the best two drivers in each race. The defending champions are: Kosmic Racing Dept. for the most important monogear category (this year KF1, last year, Super KF); Intrepid Driver Program for KZ1 and KF3; Energy Corse for KZ2; Tony Kart Racing Team for KF2.

LIVE TIMING EURO CUP

This is one of the great novelties of the

WSK for 2011. A new acknowledgement for

the drivers, conceived by WSK Promotion

in collaboration with TKart magazine. The

idea is to create a ranking, which includes

all the drivers that have participated in

the WSK races. At the end of the year, the

“best driver” of the season will be chosen

for each category. The results obtained will

be a decisive element, but other factors

will also be taken into consideration, like

the behaviour and opinion of some of the

sector’s experts.

The Global Racing System 2011 of the

WSK has been supported by all main

Manufacturers and by the most important

teams worldwide. A presence of all those

involved in the Euro Series, proves the high

level of the European WSK series. The teams

compete on the track with structures worthy

of the best of the motor sport: well-equipped

lorry-workshop, more and more professional

data acquisition systems, coaches, hospi-

tality with kitchen and any type of plus for

drivers and technicians on the track.

As usual, as soon as the registrations to the WSK were opened, the tickets were sold out. This confi rms that the youngsters are the one who are the most thrilled, and found in the WSK, a series that fi nally gives them the possibility to compete at the highest international level, KF3 category reached the maximumnumber of 90 registrations, already more than two weeks prior to the Sarno race.

E a conferma che i più giovani sono quelli che scalpitano maggiormente, e che hanno trovato nella WSK una serie che dà fi nalmente loro la possibilità di competere al più alto livello interna-zionale, la categoria KF3 aveva raggiunto il tetto delle 90 iscri-zioni già più di due settimane prima del via di Sarno.

WSK’s organizing team has always been

able to maintain a high level of racing, also

thanks to the staff of technical and sports

commissioners connected to WSK Promotion

who, besides being the best experts of the

international karting panorama, use avant-

garde tools to guarantee fairy events on the

track. For example, the number of cameras

able to observe the drivers’ discipline during

the races is outstanding. In addition to this,

there is the certainty that, in spite of any

type of unexpected event, the WSK men are

able to respect the programme without any

delay. The tip of the iceberg of their great

effi ciency is the WSK Station, the tent/offi ce/

secretary’s offi ce where all the drivers’

questions can fi nd an answer.

Gomme e carburante, elementi

imprescindibili per la buona riuscita di una

serie importante come quella WSK, hanno

il “marchio di fabbrica” delle più importanti

realtà del karting mondiale. Sarà infatti

la Vega a fornire gli pneumatici a tutti i

partecipanti di KF1, KF2 e KF3, Dunlop per

KZ1 e KZ2. La distribuzione del carburante,

invece, è affi data all’effi cienza della

Panta S.p.A. che porterà la benzina (Kart

RON102) direttamente in pista in fustini da

25 litri conformi al Regolamento Tecnico

Tyres and fuel, elements that are

indispensable for the success of an

important series such as WSK, have the

“trademark” of the most important realities

of world karting. As a matter of fact, Vega

(for KF1, KF2 and KF3) and Dunlop (for

KZ1 e KZ2) will supply the tyres to all

participants. The fuel distribution, instead,

is entrusted to the effi ciency of Panta

S.p.A., which will bring the petrol (Kart

RON102) directly on the track in 25-litre

containers in compliance with the CIK-FIA

Technical Regulation (art.21).
