communications advised Damend has a local warrant for his arrest. Damend was contacted.

On 02/18/14 Scottsbluff Police received a road and driving laws complaint on a blue dodge

Intrepid northbound on Avenue B. The reporting party advised the vehicle was swerving and

the driver appeared to be slumping over. I responded to the area and located the vehicle

stopped in the 3100 block of Avenue B partially parked up on the TLC grass. I observed a

male walking away from the area. The male was contacted a few blocks away and was

identified as Raymond Mata. Mata admitted to driving the vehicle. Mata claimed the

vehicle had a mechanical issue so he left it parked. Mata has a suspended license with a

prior conviction. He was arrested for 2nd DUS and taken to jail.

Mr. Wright said that there were also 2 other students who may have drank some of the

the students had any alcohol in their systems.

Toni advised that several items fell out of her purse and were blowing around. Toni

advised that one of the items she lost from her purse was a prescription bottle of Xanax

(Alprazolam). Toni advised that the bottle contained 30-40 pills. No further information.

Ave. As the owner, Elizabeth Moreno was describing the vehicle her daughter pulled up

and stated they had located the vehicle. I located the vehicle behind the corner house

in the 1300 block and intersection of E 14th and 5th Ave. A suspect was identified and

questioned. After my investigation, Virgil Lefthand was arrested for Motor Vehicle Theft

and Driving under Suspension on a 15 year revocation.

I was dispatched to 1724 8th Avenue in reference to several males wearing masks trying to

gain entry into a residence and garage. On arrival, no suspects were located but several

neighbors provided clothing descriptions for three suspects. Further investigation lead

me to contacting three males behind 1238 5th Avenue. One of the males being Michael Mata

was identified and had active warrants for his arrest. Mata attempted to run away on

On Friday 02/14/14 at 0830hrs. Sgt. Kite assigned me a NE CAN that he had received from

Omaha Project Harmony INTAKE#529924. ALLEGATIONS: 10 year old juvenile male with bruises

on arms. Juvenile was interviewed and made no disclosures about being hit. He does have

eczema and scratches those areas leaving welts and redness. DHHS is currently involved

in family and no law enforcement is needed at this time. NE CAN attached to report.

On 02/23/14 Halligan called and reported that their cell phone was stolen from their

home. Halligan advised they allowed a male in to the home earlier in the morning and

later allowed the male to sue their cell phone to call for a ride. While using the cell

phone the male walked out of the residence with the cell phone and refused to return it

to the owners. After being unsuccessful in retrieving the cell phone they called for

police assistance. At time of the call police were unable to locate the male suspect. Investigation is ongoing.
