Patra et al. (2011) interhemispheric gradient of SF6

MLO + BWR minus CGO + SPO

This four-site constraint does not tell the whole story. It identifies TM5’s original problem but misses GEOS-Chem’s excess SF6 north of 30°N. GEOS-Chem has offsetting residuals (>0 at BRW, <0 at MLO).

Mass conservation in GEOS-Chem v11: excellent Sulfur hexafluoride: some issues

Excess of SF6 north of 30˘N, PBL trapping?

Patra et al. (2011) SF6 IHG metric: insufficient

Does not tell the whole story.

“Beta” of ObsPack diagnostics module now available •  Allows sampling of observations from towers, flasks, aircraft,

observatories.

•  GLOBALVIEW+, NRT, and other observations products published by NOAA and ICOS. WDCGG planning to adopt ObsPack format.

•  Currently SF6, CH4, CO2, CO, N2O, H2O, H2, 13CO2, C18OO, 14CO2, 13CH4… other species on request!
