TALKING TO YOUR SCHOTALKING TO YOUR SCHOOLOL
The ongoing collaboration between parents/carers and teachers is crucial to ensuring the best possible educational and social outcomes are achieved for all of our students here at school. Please make sure that you stay in regular contact with your child‟s classroom teacher/s. Teaching staff are only too happy to meet with you to discuss your child‟s progress. This can be done during school time in teachers DOTT (duties other than teaching) or by arranging an alternative time with the classroom teacher for a personal or telephone interview. An interview can be arranged by forwarding a note to the teacher or contacting / phoning the
front office.
One of the complexities with arising issues is when school community members respond to information that is “second hand”. Please ensure that you seek clarification about the facts when there is an issue so that the concerns can be truly
addressed.
REPORTING TO PARENTSREPORTING TO PARENTS
The Department‟s Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting K-10 Policy and Guidelines states that schools will „report regular and relevant information to parents / caregivers on student progress and achievement‟. As part of this process, we will be forwarding home student‟s 2016 final reports on Wednesday 16 December,
2016.
Students in Kindergarten will receive and individualised report indicating their progress throughout Semester 2. Students in Pre-primary to Year 2 will be reported using grade descriptors (high, satisfactory, limited etc) and students from Yeasrs 3 to 10 will be reported using letter grades (A,B,C etc). The grades are provided to give parents a sense of how their child compares to other children in the same year level in the state at this point in time. Please contact your classroom
teacher for further clarification if required.
Students will receive a grade for both academic achievement

P & C NEWS
COMMUNITY NEWS
Hi Everyone,
Firstly let me thank all the parents that volunteered their Friday night to help with the Multicultural Event. It was a great night that was combined with the school's annual Open Night. The night attracted a lot of families that can't always get to the school during the day and even new families that will be joining us in 2016. It was fantastic to see so many people come together in
the local community at our school.
The P&C would like to thank Cherry, who has been the uniform coordinator this year. Cherry and her team together have logged hundreds of hours of their own personal time ensuring that the uniform shop is well stocked and running smoothly. The work you have put in has been amazing Cherry and we thank you for
this and wish you all the best for the future.
Andrea Stone has taken on the role of uniform coordinator until the end of the year, and I know personally Andrea and her team will do an amazing job. In the next couple of weeks a uniform order sheet will go home to every family to place your order for the start of 2016. Please return these sheets asap so we can make sure your order is filled and ready for the start of the new
year.
Disco Night 27th November
Once again we need parent help for the night. Please pick up a volunteer nomination form from the office fill in your details and place in the P&C
box. We will be in touch.
The Annual General Meeting is on the Monday, 7 December in the school library starting at 6.30pm. At this meeting a new committee will be selected for 2016. You can nominate yourself or vote for others. So if you have been thinking of joining, now is the time. We would love to meet you and all are welcome. Please also consider volunteering your time as we are also looking for a Uniform co-ordinator and School Banking co-
ordinator for the new year.
Take care and have a great weekend!
