OUTSOURCED PROJECTS Outsourced projects provide outsourced solutions to our customers. Outsourcing can be described as the process by which a company/entity or government department contracts another company to provide particular services. These services/ functions would be otherwise carried out in-house, by the company’s own employees. For various reasons these services are outsourced to a third party. These reasons include: Cost; Lack of skills/specialised nature of service; Duration; Labour issues; and A need to focus on core services. Outsourced projects have and continue to manage some of the largest projects in South Africa on behalf of clients. Notable examples are: Kha Ri Gude
The Kha Ri Gude Mass Literacy Campaign was launched in February 2008, with the intention of enabling 4, 7 million adults above the age of 15 years to become literate and numerate in one of the eleven official languages. Achieving this goal will enable South Africa to reach its UN: Education for All commitment made at Dakar in 2000 - that of halving the country’s illiteracy rates by 2015. Initiated and managed by the Department of Education, Kha Ri Gude delivers across all nine provinces in a massive logistical outreach. The Campaign enables adult learners to read, write and calculate in their mother tongue in line with the Unit Standards for ABET level 1, and also to learn spoken English. The specifically designed Campaign material teaches reading, writing and numeracy and integrates themes and life skills such as health, gender, the environment and civic education. These materials have been adapted for use in Braille in eleven languages, and for use by the deaf. The total budget for the campaign over 5 years is R2 405 000 000.00. Monitoring of Commercial Fish Catches at Designated Landing Sites along the South African Coastline for the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries The Monitoring of Commercial Fish Catches at Designated Landing Sites along the South African Coastline Project is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries. The purpose of the project is to provide for the long term sustainability and the responsible utilisation of Marine Living Resources in an orderly manner by those legally permitted to catch fish.
16
The primary objective of the project is to effectively monitor fish landings in identified fishing sectors in a manner that will ensure sound fishing practices for the sustainability of South Africa’s Marine Resources. Twenty two fishing sectors are provided monitoring coverage in this respect. The secondary objective of the project is to create a platform for employment in fishing communities along the South African Coastline and thereby develop a skills base for the future conservation of our Marine Living Resources. One hundred and sixty six full time contracted employees will be appointed to provide monitoring coverage. To date 119 FTE’s have been created. Outsourced projects provide solutions in the following areas: Project management; Call centre activities; Data capturing; and Stipend payments.

The following is a snap-shot of some of our past and present clients at which we have successfully delivered services. Kindly note that this is by no means an exhaustive list, rather one that demonstrates our diverse past and present client portfolio.
