RELIGIOUS ART

ARCHITECTURE- Temples- Stupas : is a mound-like or semi-hemispherical structure

containing Buddhist relics, typically the ashes of Buddhist monks, used by Buddhists as a place of meditation.

- Most famous Buddhist temple carved out of mountainsides is at Ajanta.

-Paintings: Drew on Hinduism and Buddhism beliefs.

-Sculpture: Buddhist temples - intricately carved columns and statues of kings and the Buddha.

Hindu temples – statues of their gods.
