Getting Started(Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac OS user to follow along.)

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp is delivered in ZIP format (.zip).

After unzipping, there are 2 main folders, one is for metric system (Met) and another is for imperial system (Imp). These two folders contain essentially the same objects (zone stamps). The only difference is the default settings. Only one folder (Met or Imp) should be loaded into active library at a time.

If “Length Unit” (Options > Project Preferences > Working Units > Length Unit) is set to any of the imperial system, then the folder with “(Imp)” should be loaded.

Each folder contains 2 main parts ;

1. Library container (.lcf)

2. “User Preset” folder

Unzipping the file before loading/linking to Archicad library is required. It is also recommended to store the original zip file somewhere safe, as a back up.

Library's Location

Example 1 Example 2

The library container (.lcf)The library container (.lcf) can be treated like other library parts. It can be placed in Archicad's Library Folder or other location by using “Add Linked Library”.

“User Preset” FolderThere are two requirements for the “User Preset” folder ;

1. The “User Preset” folder must be placed where user has permission to read/write.

2. The folder must NOT be placed is any system-protected location. (DO NOT place the folder in Archicad's Library Folder.)

Tip : Saving linked library with template file (.tpl) can be a time saver so user doesn't have to repeat the process every time a new project is created.

3

“User Preset” Folder's Name

The folder's name can be changed into something meaningful. If the numbers of User Preset are exceed the limit (30 presets) or different sets of settings are needed, the “User Preset” can be copied and placed elsewhere and renamed accordingly. For examples, “Zone Stamp Preset Backup 1”, “Studio A Preset” and “Studio B Preset”.

IFZS24_preset_user.xml

“IFZS24_preset_user.xml” is the file that stored the required settings for the presets. User can manipulate the data from the Indigo Figs Zone Stamp's user interface (SAVE, RENAME, COPY).

Important Note :

1. DO NOT change the name and extension of “IFZS24_preset_user.xml” which is in the folder. Doing so will create error in the functionality.

2. DO NOT open/edit the file manually. There is no recovery method if the file is invalid. User have to replace the invalid file with the original one and start all over again.

3. Only one “User Preset” folder (one “IFZS24_preset_user.xml”) should be loaded into the library. Loading more than one will result in duplicates error.

4

Assign Indigo Figs Zone Stamp to Zone CategoriesTo assign the zone stamp to zone category ;

1. Go to Options > Element Attributes > Zone Categories

2. Select the category, then select the zone stamp (next to “Zone Stamp :”)

3. Click “OK”.

Tool TipsIndigo Figs' user interface requires tool tips. If it is not activated, please go to Help > Show Tool Tips.

5

WorkflowUsing “User Preset” is highly recommended. It avoids using the Eyedropper (Pick Up Parameters) and Syringe (Inject Parameters).

The Eyedropper-syringe method cannot exclude/include parameters for GDL. Hence user will has to relocate all placed zone stamps every time the appearance (cells' location) needs to be changed.

Using “User Preset” with “Model View Options” is also highly recommended even though the MVO is not needed. Reading data from external .xml file takes noticeable time. Having many zones in the project without MVO enabled results in every zone stamp reads the external data at once when “Reload”is needed. Enabling “MVO” and applying “User Preset” on the “Model View Options” is a lot faster since there is only one “Model View Options” object reading the external data.

1. For a newly created project, start manipulating cells and contents as needed. Be mindful for which scale sensitivity is currently being edited. (There is no need to adjust the position of the zone stamp, with or without pointer enabled, as these values will not be saved in the “User Preset”.)

2. Save “User Preset” and rename accordingly. See Saving User Preset from Model View Options/User Preset, Saving User Preset from Built-in preset, Renaming User Preset.

3. Apply/Reapply “User Preset”. See Active Preset, MVO ID

4. Adjust the zone stamp's location as needed.

Working with Indigo Figs Zone Stamp

Rearranging CellIf the cell's hotspots are not displayed, use the toggle “Cell's hotspot” on the top right to set to “On” (by moving the hotspot slightly to the right). Make surethat the “Move node” in the pet palette is selected.

After turning the “Cell's hotspot” on, the table (zone stamp) might move a little bit (depending on its original location and other settings, for examples, Pointer and Table Anchor settings).

Each cell has 6 hotspots. “Move Cell” hotspots are located at the corners of each cell, “Cell width” hotspot at the middle-left and “Cell Height” at the middle-top.

Cell's location could be anywhere but it's recommended for user to rearrange the cells somewhere corresponding to the zone stamp's origin to avoid confusion. After moving cells to the desired location, use the toggle “Cell's hotspot” to set to “Off” (by moving the hotspot slightly to the left or double clickit).

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

Page 11: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

7

When choosing overlapped hotspots, the only hotspot of the higher content order (in the Zone Selection Settings) is active.

If “Scale Sensitive” is enabled, make sure that the drawing's scale is matched the settings to avoid confusion.

Turning the “Cell's hotspot” off when done editing. Pointer is drawn only when “Cell's hotspot” is off.

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

Page 12: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

8

Moving Zone StampMost of the settings for moving the zone stamp are MVO related (and also scale sensitive). This allows zone stamp to be located at different location for different MVO ID (and different scale sensitivity). Model View Options with the same MVO ID share the same settings (the Scale Sensitive settings are also taken into account).

When using PointerPointer is not drawn if “Cell's hotspot” is “On”. Please turn it “Off” before proceeding. Use the following hotspots to locate the zone stamp.

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

Page 13: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

9

When not using PointerIf the “Anchor Point” is disabled, the table (zone stamp) keeps distance of the table itself to the zone stamp's origin (the location of the second click when created zone stamp). There are 5 hotspots available.

If the “Anchor Point” is enabled, the table (zone stamp) disregard the distance of the table itself to the zone stamp's origin. See Anchor Point.

10

Zone Parameters

Options available are based on the type (Text, Linear, Area, …) of the selected parameter.

1. Simple Text Value, such as “Zone No.” or “Zone Name” ; There is nospecial options apart from “Title”.

2. Value with Unit, such as “Measured Area”. ; By opening sub-tab (downward arrow), user can select between “Calculation Units” and “Custom Units”. See Unit Settings.

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

Page 15: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

11

Custom TextCustom Text 1 – 20 allows user to create text (with associated symbol shape, if enabled) that is not part of the “Zone Parameters”. Custom Texts are not scale sensitive.

Use “,” to separate the custom value when “Draw Symbol” is enabled.

If “Read Log” is enabled, the symbol shape selected must matched to data in the log file (created from Indigo Figs Symbol Label) and the log file path must be provided on the “Log File Path” tab/page.

If “Custom Text” is set from the Model View Options (Document > Model View > Model View Options) and the MVO (for zone stamp) is activated ;

Custom Text 1 – Custom Text 10 : The values will be displayed globally via the zone stamp. Users cannot redefine the values via zone stamp. Use these values with “Read Log” enabled or when the content is needed to be displayed in all zone stamps.

Custom Text 11 – Custom Text 20 : Users can redefine the values for each zone via zone stamp. The values are stored in the zone stamp. For example, if different Model View Options contain “Custom Text 11”, the same value (text) will be the same for every Model View Options for that zone stamp, but can be different on another zone stamp object.

Page 16: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

12

Extended ParametersBottom Elevation/Height Elevation

The values come from the calculation using “Zone Parameters” and other settings such as “Reference Level” (Options > Project Preferences > ReferenceLevels). There are also 6 types of marker available.

Category/Category Code/Zone ID

The zone stamp gets the values for Category/Category Code from attributes. Tips : User can change/manage zone's attributes such as categories' name/code using “Attribute Manager” (Options > Element Attributes > Attribute Manager)

Zone ID will display the value from Archicad's “ID AND CATEGORIES” under the “CLASSIFICATION AND PROPERTIES” (on “Zone Selection Settings”) for each zone.

Zone Size

This feature allows size to be displayed as A x B or as other selected option. See Zone Size (Room Size) Settings.

Classification & PropertiesOptions available are based on the type (Text, Linear, Area, …) of the selected parameter. See also, Classification & Properties Display Options.

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

Page 17: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

13

MVO IDThe zone stamp uses “MVO ID”, set from “Model View Options” (Document > Model View > Model View Options), as an identifier.

Model View Options with the same “MVO ID”, and “User Preset” disabled, share the followings ; Cells' size and location, Zone stamp's location and other pointer-related values. But, if the “User Preset” is enabled, they only share Zone stamp's location and other pointer-related values. Cells' size and location comes from the loaded “IFZS24_preset_user.xml”. If the zone stamps are needed to be on different location for each Model View Option, assign different MVO IDs.

Tip : Using “User Preset” is more effective with “MVO” enabled. Reading data from external .xml takes noticeable time. Having “Model View Options” read the data and then transfer to other zone stamp is a lot faster that having 100+ zone stamps read the data at the same time.

User Interface

Content Settings

After creating a zone, select the zone and click “Settings Dialog” icon. User can also use the shortcut Ctrl + T (Windows) or Cmd + T (Mac) to open the Settings Dialog.

Active PresetThere are two types of preset, built-in preset and User Preset.

Built-in presets, the first five presets in the Active Preset, get the settings from the zone stamp itself while the User Presets get the settings from external XML file (IFZS24_preset_user.xml in the “User Preset” folder).

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

Page 24: Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual...1 Getting Started (Even though the illustrations in this user's manual are created using Windows version of ArchiCad, it should be fine for Mac

20

Built-in presetsThe first five presets in the Active Preset are built-in presets. Preset 1, Preset 2 and Preset 3 are provided as a starting point for further editing. The Initial Settings preset is a good starting point to create from scratch.

When changing/editing the settings (from Preset 1, Preset 2, Preset 3 or Initial Settings), the Active Preset changes to “Custom”. The Custom preset is more like a place holder. It doesn't contain any specific settings. It just inform user that the current state is not Preset 1 or any previous preset anymore.

User PresetsThere are 30 slots available for User Presets. SAVE, RENAME and COPY operations can be done in the “Preset Manager” tab/page.

When a User Preset is selected in Active Preset, most of the settings are locked. This indicates that the zone stamp is now getting all to settings from external source.

There are also two more buttons appear in the user interface, RELOAD and EDIT.

• RELOAD will force reloading the settings from “IFZS24_preset_user.xml”.

• EDIT will store the settings either from “IFZS24_preset_user.xml” or “Model View Options” into the zone stamp itself for further editing.

MVO (Model View Options)The MVO button, followed by “ ID : ”, is used to enable/disable the zone stamp from getting the settings from MVO. When enabled, the “ID : ” shows the current MVO ID as set in the Model View Options Setting Dialog.

To set MVO ID ;

1. Go to Document > Model View > Model View Options

2. Open the “Indigo Figs Zone Stamp” tab and set the MVO ID as required.

3. Repeat the process for other Model View Options if needed.

21

When MVO is enabled, the settings that get the value from Model View Options are locked. User can select which of the settings needed in the “Model View Options” tab/page in the zone stamp setting dialog.

Indigo Figs Zone Stamp User's Manual

22

Scale SensitiveMost of the cell's settings have 4 sub-settings (3 for each scale sensitivity and 1 for when the Scale Sensitive is disabled). When disabled, the zone stamp's appearance is the same regardless of the drawing's scale.

When enabled, the settings that are scale sensitive are displayed accordingly in the zone stamp setting dialog.

Hovering the cursor over the setting field also display the current drawing scale. This could be helpful indicator while working. Most of the time when the setting dialog does not match the zone stamp's appearance on floor plan, it is because the Scale Sensitivity is not selected accordingly.

If MVO is enabled, depending on the settings, the Scale Sensitive can be locked. User can not enable/disable the function but can switch between scale sensitivity to view and adjust the settings if allowed (Usually with Custom Text 11 – 20).

If “Anchor Point” is enabled, zone stamp disregards the distance between the whole table and zone stamp's original location (the second click when user create anyzone).

This option allows zone stamp to stay at the same location (same spawn point) when switching from one User Preset to another.

The zone stamp on floor plan also displays only one selected anchor point to notify user that Indigo Figs Zone Stamp will use that point as a starting pointwhen switching from one User Preset to another.

When working with MVO, user can unify pointer/table's location using the “Unify Table's Location for all MVO IDs”.
