FEBRUARY 23: HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR & CU CHI TUNNELAfter breakfast, drive northwest to the Cu Chi tunnels. This tunnel complex was dug in 1948 for the guerrillas to hide from French air and ground sweeps. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, participate in a guided tour of Ho Chi Minh City, which includes the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office with its French style architecture, City Hall, and the magnificent Saigon Opera House. Then, we will visit the War Remnants Museum, which primarily contains exhibits relating to the American phase of the Vietnam War. This evening, enjoy a dinner cruise on Saigon River. FEBRUARY 24: HO CHI MIN & MEKONG DELTABreakfast this morning will be at the hotel before departing for My Tho where you will embark on a cruise of the Mekong River. Take in the sights of fishing villages and islands before travelling along a small canal, Vam Xep, to witness the daily life of local inhabitants on Ben Tre Prov-ince (also known as Coconut Village). Keep an eye out for bee farms and handicraft workshops to enjoy honey-tea and see how locals make things from coconut wood. We will cross Hai Van Pass where you will have magnificent views of the East Sea. Upon arrival we will check into our hotel and continue onward to our boat trip on Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and Ming Mang Emperor’s Mauseoleum. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, visit An Hien House—an excellent example of traditional Vietnamese architecture. MARCH 1: HANOI CITY TOURAfter breakfast at the hotel, drive to the historic complex of Ba Dinh. Visit Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside view), the Presi-dential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, and the must-see monument in Hanoi—Tran Quoc Pagoda. Next, visit the Temple of Literature—the first Imperial school in Vietnam, built in 1070 during the dynasty of King Ly. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our tour onward to Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple (Jade Mountain Temple), But Tower, Dai Nghien, Huc Bridge. MARCH 2: HANOI, HALONG BAY, & OVER-NIGHT ON CRUISEAfter breakfast, depart for Halong Bay—we will be travelling through the scenic countryside. The wonderous Halong Bay is truly one of Viet-nam’s most impressive scenic sights. Heading out of town we will witness fantastic views of the blending skies and some 3,000 limestone is-lands rising amazingly from the crystal clear and emerald waters. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes, and beautiful caves. MARCH 3: HALONG BAY & HANOIToday, wake up onboard and enjoy breakfast as we continue cruising around the bay. MARCH 4: HANOI & FLY TO SIEM REAPThe morning/afternoon is free before transfer-ring to the airport to catch our flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival we will transfer to our hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D) Overnight: Empress Residence Resort

MARCH 5: SIEM REAP & ANGKOR TOURSThis morning, we will get up early and take tuk-tuks to the Angkor Wat Temple. Angkor Wat Temple is what remains of a disappeared civilization, which between the 8th and 13th century built this splendid temple. It was then partially annihilated by an invasion and hidden for centuries amongst the forest. Dawn is one of the most beautiful and haunting times to visit the temple, whose ancient sandstone blocks are gilded gold by the early morning rays. After-wards, we will return to the hotel for breakfast and the afternoon at your leisure. Later this afternoon visit the jungle-entwined temple of Ta Prohm. Then, we will visit Angkor Thom (the Great City) including the Southern Gate. Choose to watch the sunset from the romantic setting of Phnom Bakeng hilltop or Pre Rup temple. We will then return to town for a well-earned hour foot massage. Enjoy dinner with a traditional Apsara dance show. (B/L/D) Overnight: Empress Residence Resort

MARCH 6: SIEM REAP, TONLE SAP LAKE, & DEPARTUREAfter breakfast, visit the town of Pour Krom and walk through this lovely village experiencing local life. Enjoy an ox cart ride before transfering to Chong Knies villages to take a traditional wooden boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia. It is one of the largest in Asia and is where you can find schools, restaurants, and hospitals. Next, visit Les Artisans D’Angkor for shopping. Then, we travel back to town to explore Psar Chass, also known as the “Old Market”. Enjoy your farewell dinner before transferring to the airport for the flight back to Canada. (B/L/D)
