NIT Silchar

National Institute of Technology, Silchar is one of the

31 National Institutes of Technology of India and was

established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College

in Assam. In 2002, it was upgraded to the status of

National Institute of Technology and was declared as

Institute of National Importance under the National

Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. NIT Silchar is a

fully residential campus situated on the banks of river

Barak and on a sprawling campus spread over 625 acres

of land surrounded by scenic tea gardens on the out-

skirts of Silchar. NIT Silchar is a teaching and research

institute which reflects in the top NIRF rankings.

Dept. of E & I Engineering

The department of Electronics and Instrumentation

Engineering was established in the year 2008 and cur-

rently offer a four year B.Tech programme in Electron-

ics Instrumentation Engineering, a two year M.Tech

programme in Instrumentation Engineering and PhD

programmes in related research topics. The depart-

ment focuses in the areas of: process control, in-

dustrial automation, sensors, bio-medical instrumenta-

tion, super-capacitors, industrial communication, em-

bedded systems, etc.

Who can Apply?

Students, researchers, or faculties interested in process

control or industrial automation. Research scholars are

highly encouraged to interact with the resource per-

sons.

by email to express your interest. Applicants who are

selected for the workshop will be contacted to confirm

their participation.

The registration fee includes registration kit, refresh-

ments and working lunch on all days and banquet din-

ner. Participation certificates will be issued after at-

tending all sessions.
