Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588): Matters for Technical Code • Section 185(1) A technical code prepared by the technical standards forum or

ISMS TRANSITION TRAINING • CNII Agencies under CMI are required to adopt, implement and certified in ISO/IEC 27001
or ISMS in line with the National Security Council (NSC) Directive No. 24
• With the new version of ISMS being published, these agencies are required to do certification transitioning from ISO/IEC 27001:2005 version to ISO 27001:2013 (new version)
• To assist, the CNII Agencies, DSMD has plan and conducted the ISMS transition training which will be helpful for the agencies in repurpose the existing ISMS documentation and process over to the new version of the standard
• This training will also help the organization to prepare for ISMS audits that check conformance with the new standard.
• 32 participants from 16 companies have joined the 3 days training conducted in May 2014 at Hotel Royal, KL

BCM TRAINING • CNII Agencies are also required to adopt and implement Business Continuity
Management (BCM) in their organization, in line with the NSC Directive No. 24
• To assist the agencies in their BCM implementation, DSMD has conducted a 3 days training session in collaboration with training provider in August, 2014 at Everly Hotel
• We have also invited selected licensees to the training to introduce and expose BCM concept to them as we believe BCM is a very crucial component to ensure service continuity
• In overall, the training is aimed to elaborate and explain the foundation of a good business continuity management implementation in an organization
• 32 participants from 20 companies have joined the 3 days training conducted in August 2014 at Everly Hotel, Putrajaya

RISK MANAGEMENT TRAINING • One of the critical component in both ISMS and BCM implementation is the Risk
Management. In order to develop an effective ISMS and BCM program in an organization, proper risk identification and assessment is crucial
• Understanding the needs for the CNII Agencies to develop an effective Risk management program in their organization, we have conducted a one day Risk Management training for them in Oct, 2014
• The new ISMS 2013 version standard has aligned the security risk assessment and treatment process with the principles and generic guidelines provided in risk management standard, ISO 31000. This training will help participants to understand the ISO 31000 requirements in implementing the ISMS.
• 31 participants from 14 companies have joined the 1 day training conducted in
October 2014 at Everly Hotel, Putrajaya

• New initiative by MCMC requiring operators to
produce regulatory financial statements (RFS) at the level of identified services or business units
• Applicable only to vertically integrated operators • It is a tool used to investigate anti competitive
conduct • RFS are prepared over and above the statutory
accounts • Implemented via a phased approach with
historical cost accounting for the first two years beginning 2013 followed by current cost accounting.
• MCMC organised training for service providers on
the preparation of RFS which include the following topics: • Accounting Separation framework • Revenue allocation and attribution
methodologies • Cost Attribution and documentation • Transfer charging • Reconciliation and Mean Capital Employed • Current Cost Accounting
• MCMC also organised training for MIA and auditors to ensure that preparers and auditors have the same understanding
