Info Pack 2
Dear Participants,
As time grows closer to our Training Course we are sending you this info pack with important information for the
project. Please read this carefully.
Please make sure all participants have registered their information HERE
Facebook Group for this project is HERE
Project Description:Social media has become the norm for most young people today and endless hours are spent on
social media. We are planning a training course which will help develop methods and approaching
which will allow youth workers to take advantage of social media in order to help youth with the
serious unemployment problems which they face during the world crisis. The training course will
address the various problems in each country and try to find EU solutions for these problems. We
will look at the negative impact of social media, especially with regard to how it affects chances of
employment and give the tools to youth workers and organisations to help youth in each of the
communities to take advantage of social media. We will also develop strategies to turn social
media into more of a learning experience rather than a platform to waste time. Our hope is to be able to take social
media, a tool enjoyed by all youth, and turn it into a platform which will allow them to learn and also create jobs,
find jobs and even develop business skills.

The Venue:
The venue for our project is at a private
mountain/forest park location just
outside of Central London (Zone 3).
Moat Mount Outdoor Centre, Moat Mount Open
Space, Barnet Way,
Mill Hill, London NW7 5AL
Things to bring:
You will need to bring your own shampoo, slippers or sandals for indoor use
soap, tooth brush and tooth paste, bath towels and any other personal
hygiene items you need.
HERE you can check the local weather so you can bring appropriate clothing.
In the event of rain or snow, shoes are not allowed in the bedrooms or the
activity rooms, so bring some slippers or sandals for indoor use and other
shoes for outdoor use. We will have some time to allow for some hiking or
mountain trips so bring appropriate shoes for this.
Electricity:
The supply in the UK is 240 volts, a.c. 50Hz. Sockets are usually 13 amp, square-
pin in most buildings. More than one low current rating appliance may be
operated from the same supply point, by using an adaptor (i.e. radios, electric
clocks etc.). The use of adaptors for operating high current rating appliances is
not recommended (i.e. electric heaters, toasters, irons etc.). Please keep in
mind the UK format so you can bring a suitable adaptor.
Currency:
UK uses the Pound Sterling but we can find places and banks everywhere for
exchange. If you want to change at the airport you can but generally it is not the
best rate and you will be charged a fee. Most establishments accept credit cards.
We suggest you bring spending money though as we might not have access to
banks during the project times.
Health and Travel Insurance:
Remember health insurance is your responsibility so make sure you have E111 or
any other private medical insurance. Also you are required to have travel
insurance. Please note that each participant is required to have travel insurance
and health insurance and it is considered as a contribution from the participants

and it is not reimbursable as it is your choice with which company and plan suits
you best.
Medication:
If you take any medication please remember to bring it with you, we have
pharmacies here but if you need prescription medication you cannot buy them
over the counter without a prescription. Also please inform us of any medical
conditions we need to be aware of in the registration application. If participants
have any allergies especially to food this needs to be expressed in the
application form above, because changes to the menu will not be possible once
the project starts. Please note we are not able to cater for all special needs so
please send us your special needs ASAP.
Cultural Nights:
We will have a cultural night for each country, so feel free to bring food
and drinks and traditional clothing that you want to share with the other
participants. We will have a TV or projector for presentations so please
bring what you need. We recommend to make your nights interactive. The
videos should not be more than 5 minutes long as participants usually get
bored after a while. Try and make your country presentations asinteractive as possible. We do not have access to the kitchen so please
bring all the items you need or purchase them in the UK before your night.
The venue has WiFi access but it’s not free. There is an openzone from a
British Telecomunication company and participants that wish to have
internet access all the time may purchase available packages from their
site when they connect. As a hosting organisation we also have a package
at the same company and for activities that internet access is necessary
we will share freely an account during those specific sessions on specific
laptops. You may also obtain a data plan with a sim card at thesupermarket that is relatively near to the venue at very low prices.

participation is funded by the European Commission. The funding received
for your participation required you to be an active participant in the project
during all phases of the project. In the preparation phase you will collect
local information which will contribute to the project as stated in the
participant tasks list. During the project activity you are required to have
100% participation in all sessions and activities. After the project you are
required to undertake at least one dissemination activity in your countryand send us all information and pictures of this activity. Failure to do any
of these could result in you not receiving your travel cost reimbursement
