Week 03 - 2020 summary: North Queensland packers: please start entering your 4week forecasts now if your Shepard season starts in February. Total dispatch was 385,416 trays, an increase of 1% on the previous week (380,822 trays) and 4% higher than the forecasted 371,381 trays. Western Australia supplied the majority of fruit at 73%, followed by New Zealand at 25% . The remaining 2% of fruit was supplied by Tristate, Central NSW and Sunshine Coast. The average online single avocado price for the reported week is $2.70, see pp.6 & 7. Markeng Update: making babies better Capitalising on the recent nutrion work (see more of the nutrion informaon available for health professionals by clicking here), the Australian Avocados acvity on social media has been sharing the health benefits of avocados. This has included a recent Facebook post on the benefits of avocados for mums and bubs (theyre a good source of folate, B vitamins and healthy fats) and Instagram content about nutrients and healthy fibre. The industrys markeng acvity is helping Aussie consumers connect with (and eat!) Australian avocados. Packers: please start entering your 4week forecasts if your season is about to start in January & February. For quality assurance, please remind growers before picking to ensure dry matter of at least 23% for Hass & 21% for Shepard.

Week 03 - 2020 summary:

• North Queensland packers: please start entering your 4week forecasts now if your Shepard season starts in February.

• Total dispatch was 385,416 trays, an increase of 1% on the previous week (380,822 trays) and 4% higher than the forecasted 371,381 trays.

• Western Australia supplied the majority of fruit at 73%, followed by New Zealand at 25% . The remaining 2% of fruit was supplied by Tristate, Central NSW and Sunshine Coast.

• The average online single avocado price for the reported week is $2.70, see pp.6 & 7.

Marketing Update: making babies better Capitalising on the recent nutrition work (see more of the nutrition information available for health professionals by clicking here), the Australian Avocados activity on social media has been sharing the health benefits of avocados.
