About the Workshop
Objective of the Workshop
Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) is an autonomous Inter-University Centre of the
University Grants Commission (UGC). The objectives of the Centre are to modernize libraries and
information centres for information transfer and access, to support scholarship, learning and academic
pursuit by establishing a national network of libraries and information centres in universities, institutions
of higher learning and R & D institutions in India. Creation of national union database (IndCat),
development of an integrated library management software (SOUL 2.0), human resource development,
on-site training, providing bibliographic information services, extending technical help and guidance
from time to time to academic libraries in automation and networking are some of the major activities of
the Centre. The Centre provides access to e-resources and Internet connectivity to universities under the
UGC-Infonet connectively programme and UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium. The Centre also
provides access to 6500+ e-journals and 97,000+ e-books to the colleges in India though programme
entitled "National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)".
ICT has brought a revolution in all walks of life. Organising and disseminating web content is a
challenging task for the library and IT professionals. Integrating various library resource and make it
accessible to the user community is vital to an organisation or information centre. Several open source
software are available to manage the web content in a static / dynamic way. Drupal is the world's leading
open source Content Management System (CMS) software. It offers advantage of superior coding and
flexible customisation. Many organisation are using Drupal software for developing static / highly
interactive content management system and website. The large no of user community spread all over the
world to solve issues and problems with detailed documentation on installation, configuration and
integration of modules. The INFLIBNET Centre is organising three-day workshop on Content
Management System using Drupal during 15-17 July, 2015 at INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar.
The main objective of this workshop is to enable the participant to develop content management system
or website for their institution or library. The workshop includes lectures as well as intensive hands-on
training, so as to provide both theoretical base and practical skills to the participants. The participant will
receive a comprehensive overview on how to build a website or CMS using Drupal including installation,
configuration, page layout design and user management, etc.

The resource persons are eminent IT/Computer/LIS Scientists/professionals and experts of the country.
Student interested in CMS & website development, Library and Information Science Professional,
Information Scientists, System Administrator, Content Developer and other with similar responsibilities.
A maximum of 25-30 candidates will be selected for the workshop on First-Come-First-Serve basis.
Pre-requisite: Participants should be conversant with basic ICT terminologies, should possess basic
knowledge and experience with HTML, PHP and web design will be preferred.
Tentative workshop schedule will be hosted on our website one week prior to the workshop
The Workshop will be conducted at Information and Library Network Centre, An IUC of University Grants
Commission, Infocity, Gandhinagar-382007, Gujarat, India
With accommodation: Rs 5000/- per person
Without accommodation Rs 3,000/- per person
It covers the cost of workshop kit (containing training materials), breakfast, working lunch, dinner and two
time tea & snacks during the sessions. The payment should be made through Demand Draft in favour of
The INFLIBNET Centre payable at Gandhinagar along with filled-in registration form and fee is non-
refundable and non-adjustable.
The Centre will arrange accommodation during the period of training at INFLIBNET Guest House (A/C
Room) on twin sharing basis.

The participants must send prior intimation and charges for accommodation along with registration fees.
The application for admission to the workshop should be submitted in the enclosed prescribed form/online thto INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar on or before 13 July, 2015
If cancellation of request is received from the applicant/institution for training programmes/workshops.
?One month in advance – refund with 10% deduction
?One week in advance but less than one month – refund with 20% deduction; and
?Less than one week in advance – No refund
In case of cancellation/postponed any courses/workshops by INFLIBNET, the course fee would either be refunded in full or adjusted against registration to another batch of the same course or to a similar course
Gandhinagar is connected to Surat, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai through National Highway 8A. It is connected to Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Udaipur, New Delhi & Chandigarh through the National Highway 8C.
The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad located at a distance of 15KM from the INFLIBNET Centre, provides connectivity with domestic flights to the Metropolitans and other major cities of India. It also provides many International flights from Ahmedabad to across the world.
The nearest Railway Station is Ahmedabad Railway Station (Known as Kalupur) which is well connected to all metropolitans and other major cities of India other western parts of the country. The
