ContentMy main project is going to be a music video for

the song you just heard. The song is about a guy who is experiencing love at first sight and wants her to be his. The tune is very upbeat and fun with happy-go-lucky people.

The music video will be integrated with ancillary products such as a DVD cover and a magazine spread. The colours I use on both of these would create a sense of branding as I will keep them similar. They will also tie in with the theme of the music video itself.

AudienceDue to the lyrics and the type of song, I aim the video at

young teenagers/young adults as they still experience love at first sight moments. It’s a real catchy song that young people will get hooked on. Both genders should enjoy this song but males would relate more to it, as it is from a male perspective.

The song sounds quite mainstream and similar to songs in the charts so more people will like it.

GenreI aim to make my music video quite light-hearted and

fun. A video that makes people smile. There are a few videos I am currently looking for influence. These include Bluey Robinson and Chris Brown. Both of these artists also look at the themes of love from a young, male perspective.

I want the structure to follow a typical narrative where a boy likes a girl and tries to impress her to win her over. However, I want the main guy to break role and address the camera directly to make it more humorous. I want the majority to be filmed outside on sidewalks to make it relevant to the song title.

RepresentationThe main stereotypes in my video will be of young boys/men falling in

love based on looks. It’s not necessarily a bad thing as this shows men can be quite persistent to get what they want. People are drawn in by what they see.

The males and females I use, will be dressed funky and fashionable, setting trends for people who watch the music video. I want to create the sense of “everything’s great”, which is slyly unrealistic but then people need to escape reality sometimes.

Narrative Majority of the filming will have a narrative of one main boy who falls

in love with a girl he sees sitting on the sidewalk. He is with his friends and tries to impress her and catch her attention. There are moments where he starts daydreaming of what it would be like to have her. Some moments of the video he will come out of role and address the screen to make it more comical and show more of his cheeky personality.

The ending will either reflect the boy getting the girl or him being rejected. ?
