ICEs flagship event ofthe year will highlight how
innovation in engineeringdesign and construction can
underpin the challenges ofa low carbon future.
Examine the engineers' role in addressing thechallenges of climate change
Discuss the key issues of a developing transport
infrastructure: what will the networks look like in
a low carbon economy?
The conference will provide delegates with
international solutions to the problems posed by
growing city populations, with case studies from
New York, Masdar and London.
Understand the implications of reduced natural resources:
how will we continue to ensure water and food security?
Delve into what engineers can do to encourage
behavioural and cultural shifts among the population
in the struggle for a sustainable future
Explore the need for innovative solutions that must
underpin all of these factors
8/8/2019 Innovate to Survive Programme

Who should attend
CEOs, CTOs, COOs, MDs, Chief Economists,
VPs, Commercial Directors, Innovation
Directors, Directors of Product Development,
Chief Scientific Advisors and senior decision
makers of:
Engineering, planning and design contractors
Energy, utilities and transport providers
International consultancies
Individual large engineering projects
Government departments

ICE has teamed up with EPSRC and The Happold Trust to run a postercompetition for students to demonstrate exciting and innovativesolutions to challenges facing the industry.
A judging panel drawn from across the industry are consideringsubmissions across four categories:
Transport Water and Food Security
Energy The Built Environment
The best posters will be displayed within ICEs building for the event and the entiremonth of July, and one poster author will win a trip for two to Copenhagen.
Judges will be looking for ideas that:
Represent step change in thinkingProvide long term solutions, rather than quick fixesAre feasible they can be achieved through engineering skill
Submission for the 2010 Competition is now closed.
2011 CompetitionThe success of this poster competition, designed to highlight thecontribution and ideas of student engineers to the developmentof the industry, has allowed ICE to make this an annual event.
The 2011 Competition will provide a further opportunity foranyone interested in displaying their ideas or providingsupport to the development of engineeringeducation to get involved.
Do you have an innovative solution?
Do you or your company want to take anactive part in the 2011 Competition?
